A&E returns the Emmy®-nominated “Sell This House” for an all-new eighth season beginning April 3 at 9:00 and 9:30am ET/PT followed by the premiere of the new original series “Fix This Yard,” at 10:00 and 10:30am ET/PT. Both series air as part of A&E’s Saturday morning lineup, The Big Fix.
Hosts Amy Devers and Alan Luxmore bring curb appeal to that eyesore at the end of the block in “Fix This Yard.” Each week they meet a homeowner’s frustrated friends, relatives or neighbors and get a revealing look at the horror next door. With just one weekend to complete each make-over, Amy and Alan dig in, tackling everything from the cracked driveway to the collapsed fence, the porch with peeling paint and the overgrown path to the front door. Despite being challenged by extreme vegetation, inclement weather, and often reluctant property owners, Amy and Alan teach homeowners practical and easy ways to update and maintain their yards. At the end of each half hour they reveal a yard that’s the envy of the neighborhood.

Amy Devers is an artist, designer, furniture maker, carpenter and home improvement expert. She was born and raised in Ypsilanti, Michigan, just outside of Detroit. She’s earned three college degrees which include an AAS in Fashion Buying and Merchandising from SUNY-Fashion Institute of Technology, a BA in furniture design from San Diego State University, and an MFA in furniture design at the Rhode Island School of Design. .Amy has appeared on the small screen as host and designer of “Freeform Furniture,” “DIY to the Rescue,” and “Trading Spaces.” She was also the host of the interactive series, “Blog Cabin.” Amy is also currently operating Amy Devers Art/Design, a design/build studio in Los Angeles.
Alan Luxmore grew up in Seattle with a love for acting, a natural skill for carpentry and a deep belief in giving back. In 2003, a chance request for him to volunteer on the show, “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” gave him the opportunity to utilize all three passions. His knowledge of construction and his love for the fast paced world of television proved to be a perfect combination for the show. Producers asked him to join the team, and Alan spent the next 3 years as the Senior Project Manager. Alan was also featured in the spin off show, “How’d They Do That” and in 2006, Alan was featured on-camera in a special two hour Seattle edition of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”

And they’re back for an eighth season of “Sell This House” with thirteen new half-hour episodes. Using hidden cameras the series gives homeowners the chance to peek inside the mind of potential buyers. Each house is transformed on a budget, and then buyers are brought back in to give feedback on the changes. Will it be enough to make a sale? With the current financial and housing market in a fragile state, the “Sell This House” team faces the most challenging season ever.
