Sportsnet Announces 2022-23 NHL Regional Broadcast Schedules

Hockey is (almost) here, Canada! Sportsnet is returning to Canada’s hockey hubs for the 2022-23 NHL regular season to deliver exclusive regional TV and streaming coverage of the Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, plus the majority of the Toronto Maple Leafs schedule, to hockey fans across the country.

As both the exclusive national English-language home of the NHL and long-term regional broadcast partner, Sportsnet will serve up national and regional coverage of all 82 Flames, Oilers and Canucks games this season. Plus, the network will air 56 exclusive national and regional Maple Leafs broadcasts throughout the 2022-23 NHL campaign.

Bringing Canadian hockey fans into the heart of the action starting October 12, Sportsnet’s regional schedule will reach viewers on Sportsnet East, Ontario, West and Pacific, with select games on Sportsnet ONE, Sportsnet 360, as well as the Sportsnet Flames and Sportsnet Oilers companion channels. As announced earlier, NHL on Sportsnet national coverage will return to TV on Sportsnet, Sportsnet ONE, Sportsnet 360, CBC, Citytv and OMNI Television, with live radio coverage available across the Sportsnet 590 The FAN in Toronto and Sportsnet 960 The FAN in Calgary. New this season, fans across Canada can live stream more hockey than ever with over 1,000 national and out-of-market games, and all Stanley Cup Playoffs matchups, as NHL LIVE moves exclusively to SN NOW PREMIUM. In addition to being the streaming home of hockey, SN NOW also offers access to Toronto Blue Jays and MLB Playoffs games, Toronto Raptors, WWE Network and all other live sports and original content available on Sportsnet.

NHL on Sportsnet – Regional Broadcast Schedules

Canucks on Sportsnet

Returning to Rogers Arena and on the road, Sportsnet is set to deliver 58 regional Vancouver Canucks games this season on Sportsnet Pacific, Sportsnet ONE, Sportsnet 360 and Citytv Vancouver. Starting October 15, regional Canucks coverage includes:

  • The return of Canucks regional broadcast team – play-by-play announcer John Shorthouse, game analyst John Garrett and reporter Dan Murphy
  • 19 clashes with Pacific division rivals, including three bouts against NHL sophomore franchise Seattle Kraken
  • A battle of the brothers as Quinn Hughes and the Canucks host Jack Hughes and the Devils on Nov. 1

 

Oilers on Sportsnet

Reaching fans across Alberta, Sportsnet West and Sportsnet Oilers will deliver 60 regional matchups this season. Beginning October 18, regional Oilers on Sportsnet coverage includes:

  • Play-by-play calls by Jack Michaels, alongside game analyst Louie DeBrusk and reporter Gene Principe
  • 18 divisional showdowns, including a three-game holiday season swing through Edmonton, Calgary and Seattle (Dec. 23, Dec. 27 and Dec. 30)
  • A 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs rematch against the Colorado Avalanche in the Mile High City on Feb. 19

 

Flames on Sportsnet

Reaching fans across Alberta, Sportsnet West, Sportsnet ONE, Sportsnet 360 and Sportsnet Flames will be the destination for 60 regional Calgary games this season. Beginning Oct. 13, regional Flames on Sportsnet coverage features:

  • The return of the Flames on SN broadcast team: play-by-play broadcaster Rick Ball, game analyst Kelly Hrudey and reporter Ryan Leslie
  • Can’t-miss home opener as Nazem Kadri and the Flames host defending Stanley Cup champions Colorado Avalanche on Oct. 13
  • The return of two former Flames, starting with a visit from Matthew Tkachuk and the Florida Panthers on Nov. 29, followed by Johnny Gaudreau’s arrival with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Jan. 23

 

Maple Leafs on Sportsnet

Sportsnet will be the exclusive home to 56 regional and national Maple Leafs broadcast this season. Sportsnet’s coverage of the Blue & White includes:

  • Play-by-play calls by Chris Cuthbert, alongside game analyst Craig Simpson and reporter Shawn McKenzie
  • 15 all-Canadian matchups, including a puck-drop showdown vs. Montreal on Oct. 13 and Battle of Ontario home opener vs. Ottawa on Oct. 15
  • Special New Year’s Eve edition of Hockey Night in Canada as the Maple Leafs host the Colorado Avalanche on Dec. 31

 

NHL on Sportsnet Radio Network

Accompanying Sportsnet’s TV and streaming coverage of hockey’s biggest names and games, fans can tune into the live NHL action across the Sportsnet Radio Network:

  • In CalgarySportsnet 960 the FAN brings Calgary-area fans live radio coverage of all 82 Flames games throughout the regular season. Fan-favourite duo Derek Wills and Peter Loubardias return as the Flames radio broadcast team, alongside host Pat Steinberg.
  • In Toronto – Fans across the GTA can tune in to 41 Maple Leafs radio broadcasts on Sportsnet 590 The FAN. Veteran play-by-play announcer Joe Bowen returns to the Maple Leafs broadcast booth alongside analyst Jim Ralph.

As the home of the NHL in Canada, Sportsnet is set to deliver 130+ national broadcasts this season. Complementing the network’s national schedule, Sportsnet will broadcast more than 130 regional games as the official regional television broadcast rights holder for the Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames (including radio rights on Sportsnet 960 The FAN), Toronto Maple Leafs (including radio rights on Sportsnet 590 The FAN) and Vancouver Canucks.
