Mom can put up her feet and find some me-time with movies to enjoy on Mother’s Day, May 9, 2010 on Super Channel, Canada’s national pay television network.
The day features lots of great actresses playing moms all day long beginning at 9:15 a.m. ET.
Not Without My Daughter starring Sally Field, Lullaby starring Melissa Leo, the fascinating documentary The Pregnant Man, My Fake Baby a documentary about mom’s with plastic children, My Mom’s New Boyfriend starring Meg Ryan, Smother starring Diane Keaton, Mothers & Daughters starring 2010 Genie Nominee Gabrielle Rose, Then She Found Me starring Helen Hunt and Bette Midler, Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story starring Kimberly Elise, and Mermaids starring Cher.
At 8 p.m. ET, Super Channel is proud to premiere Crackie, a multiple award winner, including being named one of Canada’s Top Ten of 2009 and an official selection at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival. Crackie, stars Mary Walsh (unlike you’ve ever seen her before), Kristen Booth, newcomer Meghan Greeley, and Joel Hynes.
It tells the story of 17-year-old Mitsy who dreams of ditching her harsh-tongued grandmother, Bride (played by Walsh) who’s raised her since she was four, by running off to find the mother who deserted her. But when her mother turns up unexpectedly and wreaks havoc in their lives, Mitsy is forced to decide whether the woman who raised her is her enemy, or her strongest ally.
