BEHIND THE BOHEMIAN EMBASSY – World Television Premiere

Bravo! is proud to present the world television premiere of BEHIND THE BOHEMIAN EMBASSY. This 90-minute documentary takes viewers to the bustling 1960s in Toronto, a time ripe with creative potency and flair. On this trip through time, viewers visit the avant-garde coffee house that changed the course of show business history, launching some of Canada’s most unforgettable careers. A generation of artists such as Margaret Atwood, Gordon Lightfoot, Mark Breslin, David French, and comic Lorne Michaels were nurtured by The Bohemian Embassy and revisit this historic hot spot. The documentary features interviews with these artists and other Canadian treasures who got their start under the roof of one of Toronto’s most significant landmarks.

This special late-night episode of BRAVO!FACT PRESENTS… features a selection of shorts that can only be aired after nightfall. Innu artist Tanya Tagaq captivates in Tungijuq; Randall Okita portrays a psychological struggle in Fish In Barrel; Corey Lee’s In Translation reads between the lines and between the sheets; and the performers in Matt Barnes’ Vaude-A-Villians are not what they seem.

BRAVO!FACT PRESENTS… puts on its dancing shoes this week with Clancy Dennehy’s Metal Dog, which explores the movement in yoga; Pablo Diconca’s Al Dente visits a seductive dinner; Desh Fernando’s Dances for Small Spaces: Ame brings choreography to an unexpected place; while Swing Fling Thing by Sandra Sawatzky and Strings for Two by Bradley Timmins explore the pas-de-deux – Ballet’s step/dance for two. In celebration of the First Nations people, BRAVO!FACT PRESENTS… four Aboriginal shorts beginning with Moe Clark’s blend of music and spoken word in Intersecting Circles; Lisa Jackson’s Savage and Kate Kroll’s Shi-shi-etko explore the aftermath of residential schools, and Theresa Wynnyk’s The Bear: Looks Within fuses music and animation. Bravo! CELEBRATES pride week

Bravo! continues its celebration of Toronto Pride Week (June 25–July 4) with programming dedicated to promoting diversity including encore presentations of GENERAL IDEA: ART, AIDS AND THE FIN DE SIÈCLE (July 3 at 7 p.m. ET) – a poignant story of art and sexual politics and TO WONG FOO, THANKS FOR EVERYTHING JULIE NEWMAR (July 4 at 11:45 a.m. ET) – an infamous drag/road trip flick starring the late Patrick Swayze.

BRAVO! SUNDAY CINEMA – Summer Thrillers
Sundays at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT
Summer Thrillers returns as part of BRAVO!’s SUNDAY CINEMA line-up. This July, the thrill of movie watching begins with the Academy Award®-winning No Country For Old Men (July 4), directed by the Coen brothers and starring Tommy Lee Jones and Javier Bardem. Next is the Oscar®-nominated Gone Baby Gone (July 11) starring Morgan Freeman and Casey Affleck. Plus, the humble beginnings of legendary fear-inducing Hannibal Lecter is revealed in the prequel Hannibal Rising (July 18), before King Arthur (July 25) starring Clive Owen as the title character airs.
