Rogers Sportsnet Heats Up with 60 Calgary Flames Games in 2011/12 season

Rogers Sportsnet has the hottest schedule this season with 60 regular-season Calgary Flames games in 2011-12, more than any other Canadian broadcaster. TELUS Flames Hockey coverage begins on Monday, Oct. 10 at 12 p.m. (MT) on Sportsnet West when Calgary visits the St. Louis Blues.

Sportsnet’s Flames broadcast schedule includes 45 games on Sportsnet West and 15 on the Sportsnet ONE companion channel, Sportsnet Flames. The schedule features 16 divisional-rival games and 12 against Canadian-based teams.

“Calgary fans crave Flames hockey and our comprehensive coverage feeds that passion, “ said Navaid Mansuri, Vice President of Finance & Sports Programming, Rogers Broadcasting Ltd. “We promise to offer viewers the most in-depth analysis for every Flames game with our pre-game and post-game shows.”

Flames broadcasts will be handled by play-by-play announcer Rob Kerr alongside former NHLer Charlie Simmer as analyst and as Roger Millions host. Sportsnet Connected will preview every game and provide post-game analysis immediately prior to and following each game.

All 60 regular-season Flames games on Sportsnet West and Sportsnet Flames will be in high definition, including several key match-ups such as:
· 3 games featuring the Battle of Alberta – Calgary collides with their provincial rivals, the Edmonton Oilers, starting at home on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m. (MT)
· Jets finally land in Calgary– The Flames host the Winnipeg Jets in their only meeting of the season on Friday, March 9 at 7 p.m. (MT)
