Just in time to get out of the city for the holiday weekend and back to school next week, CP24 is giving users another great way to stay connected by providing unrivaled access to GTA roads. Building on the success of the CP24 News App, The CP24 Traffic App is now available for most common Smartphone platforms and allows users to always be aware of traffic congestion well in advance with hands-free visual and audio feedback. More information about where to download the app and platform compatibility can be found at CP24.ca.
CP24’s new traffic app is an excellent addition to the mobile market as it utilizes innovative technology that passively and anonymously sends users’ location information to a main server, which allows CP24 to advise other users of traffic ahead. As well, users can also actively participate by using the hands-free technology to leave a voicemail regarding real-time road conditions with CP24’s Traffic Reporting Center.
“Traffic can make or break your day,” said Joanne MacDonald, Vice-President, CTV News and General Manager, CP24. “CP24 works hard to deliver info that gets people out the door better, faster with as little headache as possible – and this App will really help with that goal.”
The CP24 Traffic App provides users with:
Monitoring of traffic issues along recorded routes, as well as 5 km ahead of current street locations;
Real-time voice alerts on any unexpected traffic issues, with affected street segments and speed information;
Visual map tracking routes with traffic flow information;
Community Favourites for commonly travelled routes, such as “Mississauga to Air Canada Center”, “Downtown to the Airport”, and more.
The free app can be downloaded right to mobile devices through popular download stores. For more information on where to get the app and which devices on which it is available, click here.
