Relationships can be a pain and sometimes downright challenging even at the best of times, so CTV asked WHITNEY star, comedienne, and former model Whitney Cummings to give Canadians her best tips on how to actually make them work. What the network learned will help spice up relationships (and bedrooms!) from coast-to-coast. In a Canadian exclusive and in advance of Monday night’s (Sept. 19) highly anticipated series debut, Whitney shares her favourite relationship tips with Canada’s couples.
Whitney Cummings Relationship 101 for Canadians:
DISCLAIMER: Use at your own risk.
Laugh together. Me and my boyfriend do really stupid things, like singing dumb songs we make up. You have to share your lack of talent with each other.”
• “Prank each other. My boyfriend constantly hides in closets and scares me to death and I am always setting traps for him to trip and locking him out of the house. It’s just not a healthy relationship unless your life is constantly being threatened.”
• “Have your own life. You need to have stuff to talk about, but if you are only with each other, you’re going to be as boring as hell. Try to keep it as much like it was when you were first dating as you can. In order to talk to someone about your life, you have to have one.”
• “Give your relationship attention like you would a plant. You have to water it every day and give it sunshine. So, put your man out in the sun and spray him with a hose.”
• “Literally keep things spicy. Go out for exotic food. Brazilian and Spanish restaurants always make me feel sexy. I know it’s sad, but just go with it.”
• “Don’t have morning breath. Do keep mints by the bed, you animal.”
• “Do wear your boyfriends’ clothes. Sexy and cozy. Don’t wash your boyfriends’ clothes. You’re not his maid.”
• “Do throw your towels in the hamper. Don’t throw in the metaphorical towel.”
