CTV is Showered with Fresh New Episodes, April 5 – 17

Spring bursts onto CTV with new episodes. Homegrown newcomers HICCUPS, DAN FOR MAYOR and THE BRIDGE brighten days of April showers, along with new episodes of LOST, CRIMINAL MINDS, THE AMAZING RACE, SPECTACLE: ELVIS COSTELLO WITH…, AMERICAN IDOL, HUMAN TARGET and UNDERCOVER BOSS.

Programming highlights for April 5 – 17 on CTV include:

• Millie (Nancy Robertson) gets herself into trouble on a local talk show on HICCUPS; special time: 9 p.m. ET (April 5)
• Dan (Fred Ewanuick) and Jeff (Paul Bates) are threatened by a mascot on DAN FOR MAYOR; special time: 9:30 p.m. ET (April 5)
• Desmond (Henry Ian Cusick) wakes up to discover he’s back on the island on LOST (April 6)
• Rumoured as a special spin-off episode, Oscar®-winner Forest Whitaker (Last Kings of Scotland) and Mary Steenburgen (The Proposal) guest star on CRIMINAL MINDS (April 7)
• Allison (Patricia Arquette) needs to protect the girl in her dreams in the conclusion of the two-part MEDIUM episode (April 9)
• Elvis Costello slides from the host chair to the guest chair for a revealing conversation with actress/music journalist Mary Louise Parker on SPECTACLE: ELVIS COSTELLO WITH… (April 10)
• Chance’s (Mark Valley) former boss returns to bring him back into the fold on HUMAN TARGET (April 11)

Monday, April 5
9 p.m. – HICCUPS – “Carry on Camping” – NEW EPISODE
When Stan (Brent Butt) and Anna (Paula Rivera) go camping for the weekend, Millie (Nancy Robertson) appears on a local talk show and gets herself into trouble on an international scale.

9:30 p.m. – DAN FOR MAYOR – “A Cruel Mattress” – NEW EPISODE
While out campaigning, Dan (Fred Ewanuick) and Jeff (Paul Bates) are threatened by a mascot. Meanwhile, Claire (Mary Ashton) re-dedicates herself to her relationship with her fiancé.

Tuesday, April 6
7 p.m. – LOST – “Happily Ever After” – NEW EPISODE
Desmond (Henry Ian Cusick) wakes up to discover he’s back on the island.

8 p.m. – AMERICAN IDOL – “Top 9 Perform” – NEW LIVE TWO-HOUR PERFORMANCE EPISODE
The nine remaining finalists take the stage to perform selections from the legendary songbook of John Lennon and Paul McCartney and fight to stay in the competition.

10 p.m. – LAW & ORDER: SVU – “Conned” – NEW EPISODE
Detectives Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Stabler (Chris Meloni) are called to a crime scene where the body of a young man has been found in a hotel storage room. Initially, it is assumed that the young man was a wedding crasher, but security tapes indicate that he was with the bride’s godfather. However, when the presumed victim turns up alive, Benson and Stabler must determine the true identity of the victim and find the murderer.

Wednesday, April 7
8 p.m. – CRIMINAL MINDS – “The Fight” – NEW EPISODE
In a special, possible spin-off episode of CRIMINAL MINDS, the BAU team travels to San Francisco to investigate the murders of several homeless men and teams up with a separate group of BAU operatives who are working another case they think is connected. Oscar®-winner Forest Whitaker (Last King of Scotland) guest stars as Special Agent Sam Cooper and Mary Steenburgen (The Proposal) guest stars as Director Beth Griffith. Whitaker is rumoured to star as the lead in the potential CRIMINAL MINDS spin-off.

9 p.m. – AMERICAN IDOL – “1 of 9 Voted Off” – NEW LIVE RESULTS EPISODE
R&B princess Rihanna performs her hit “Te Amo” and the nine remaining finalists find out who is safe and who will be sent home during the live results episode.

10 p.m. – CSI: NY – “Rest In Peace, Marina Garito” – NEW EPISODE
When a woman linked to an unsolved murder case is found dead, the evidence and autopsy both suggest a suicide, but Stella (Melina Kanakaredes) is unconvinced and risks her life to pursue the case.

Thursday, April 8
7 p.m. – THE VAMPIRE DIARIES – “Let the Right One In” – NEW EPISODE
When Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) make a dangerous new enemy, Stefan suddenly finds himself in a perilous situation. Damon and Elena (Nina Dobrev) try to convince Alaric (Matt Davis) to work with them to help Stefan. Meanwhile, after her car breaks down in a storm, Caroline (Candice Accola) makes a horrific discovery that shocks everyone in town.

9 p.m. – CSI – “Irradiator” – NEW EPISODE
When the CSI team investigates the brutal murder of a family, they trace the killer to the house next door, which might belong to the “Dr. Jekyll” serial killer.

10 p.m. – THE MENTALIST – “Aingavite Baa” – NEW EPISODE
When a ‘Jane Doe’ with amnesia and covered in blood steps in front of Cho (Tim Kang) and Van Pelt’s (Amanda Righetti) car, Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) must use all of his skills to discover who she is, her last location and why she lost her memory.

Friday, April 9
8 p.m. – GHOST WHISPERER – “Dead Eye” – NEW EPISODE
When a confused ghost dressed as a clown begins haunting Melinda’s (Jennifer Love Hewitt) house, it’s up to her and Eli (Jamie Kennedy) to look for answers in the ghost’s final case as a private investigator.

9 p.m. – MEDIUM – “There Will Be Blood… Type B” – NEW EPISODE
Allison (Patricia Arquette) bonds with the mysterious girl from her dreams, who she now must protect, when the serial killer eyes her as the next target. Also, Joe (Jake Weber) expresses reluctance when he gets some added job responsibilities, on the conclusion of a special two-part MEDIUM.

10 p.m. – THE BRIDGE – “God Bless the Child” – NEW EPISODE
When kidnappings occur in rich and poor neighborhoods, Frank (Aaron Douglas) must fight the powers at city hall and the police department to get equal resources and attention for both cases.

Saturday, April 10

A teenage boy is brutally murdered in a parking lot and the investigation draws attention to a vicious high school rivalry.

10 p.m. – SPECTACLE: ELVIS COSTELLO WITH… – “Elvis Costello” – NEW EPISODE
In this very special edition of SPECTACLE taped in Toronto at the historial Masonic Temple, Elvis Costello slides from the host chair to guest chair for a revealing conversation with actress/music journalist Mary Louise Parker (WEEDS). While it’s impossible to cover all of Costello’s 30-plus-year musical journey in an hour, he performs a wide and eclectic selection of his material.

Sunday, April 11
7 p.m. – HUMAN TARGET – “Christopher Chance” – NEW EPISODE
When Chance’s former boss (Lennie James) makes a move to bring him back into the fold, flashbacks reveal the events that lead to Chance (Mark Valley), Winston (Chi McBride) and Guerrero’s (Jackie Earle Haley) unlikely partnership. Armand Assante (American Gangster), Lee Majors (THE GAME) and Amy Acker (DOLLHOUSE) guest star.

8 p.m. – THE AMAZING RACE – “Dumb Did Us In” – NEW EPISODE
The teams race through Singapore looking to avoid roadblocks and advance to the next leg of the race.

Millie (Nancy Robertson) learns that doing good deeds has its pros and cons, Joyce (Laura Soltis) struggles with self control when it comes to snacking and Taylor (David Ingram) becomes an unwitting victim of an online auction.

8:30 p.m. – DAN FOR MAYOR – “The Symbol of Futility” – NEW EPISODE
Dan (Fred Ewanuick) struggles to find the perfect symbol for his campaign for Mayor, while trying to date Brianna (Agam Darshi). Claire (Mary Ashton) obsesses about trivial wedding details.

10 p.m. – CSI: NY – “Redemptio” – NEW EPISODE
A death row inmate’s final request brings Dr. Hawkes (Hill Harper) to a Pennsylvania prison and face-to-face with a tragic incident that he has kept secret for many years, just as a prison riot erupts and traps Hawkes inside. Ozzy Osbourne’s new song, “Let Me Hear You Scream”, from his upcoming album, Scream, makes its world premiere during the episode and Harold Perrineau (LOST) guest stars.

Thursday, April 15
7 p.m. – THE VAMPIRE DIARIES – “Under Control” – NEW EPISODE
While Stefan (Paul Wesley) struggles to control his new situation, Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) are surprised by a visit from their uncle, John Gilbert (guest star David Anders, 24). Alaric (Matt Davis) has an awkward talk with Elena about Isobel. At a Founder’s Day event, Stefan displays a rare party attitude and Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) attempt to find out why Uncle John has returned to town takes an ugly turn.

9 p.m. – CSI – “Field Mice” – NEW EPISODE
When Hodges (Wallace Langham) and Wendy (Liz Vassey) take a group of high school CSI Explorer Scouts on a field trip, they embellish their role in solving cases and take their assignment a little bit too far.

Friday, April 16

Frank (Aaron Douglas) attempts to solve the murder of an undercover cop whose identity must be kept a secret.

Host Elvis Costello explores the role of the singer/songwriter with three of music’s best; the legendary and highly influential Grammy winner John Prine, four-time Grammy winner Lyle Lovett and the critically acclaimed Ray LaMontagne. Each stands alone in the spotlight to perform and sits for an intimate chat with Elvis on their craft. All three guests and Elvis come together for a stirring version of the Prine classic, “Angel from Montgomery.
