Bring On the Bedlam! The 2010 MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS Return Live and Unfiltered, June 20

Music heads and pop-culture addicts rejoice: the only street-level award show on earth is back. MuchMusic announced today that the most fan-friendly event of the year, the 2010 MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS, airs live from the station’s headquarters in downtown Toronto on Sunday, June 20. Fans are sure to have their minds blown by the huge announcements still to come.

Last year, hundreds of thousands of fans watched as co-hosts the Jonas Brothers tore up the stage. And who can forget Lady Gaga’s infamous flaming bra. This year, MuchMusic promises to up the ante once again.

“Canada’s MMVAs is the loudest and craziest street party in the world,” said Brad Schwartz, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Much MTV Group, CTV Inc. “It’s a live event where everything and anything can happen, where fans get up close to the biggest celebrities and bands, where lineups for wristbands stretch 10 blocks, and where Perez gets punched at after-parties. Whether you’re watching in person or at home, it’s the most exciting night of the year!”

Fans can get in on the action early by hitting up muchmusic.com beginning March 31 to weigh in on their pick for the MuchMusic.com Most Watched Video Award. By watching and re-watching the most popular videos of the year, fans can swing the results and have their say in the winning video.

Last year’s performers included Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Kelly Clarkson, Rise Against, Shiloh, Billy Talent, Alexisonfire, Classified and co-hosts the Jonas Brothers. The 2009 MMVAs festivities also included Drake, Taylor Lautner, Brody Jenner and Audrina Patridge, Girlicious, Kim Kardashian, Danny Fernandes, Rumer Willis and more.

Previous years have featured the star-power of Rihanna, Hedley, Kardinal Offishall and Akon, Flo Rida, Fergie, Avril Lavigne, Maroon 5, Alexisonfire, The Black Eyed Peas, Nelly Furtado, Fall Out Boy, finger eleven, Paris Hilton, Pamela Anderson, The Killers, Lenny Kravitz, Joss Stone, Britney Spears, Timbaland, and Kanye West.
