No Joke: The Comedy Network Has Best December, Ever

Comedy had the last laugh in December as it experienced its most-watched month in the channel’s history with an average audience of 87,000 viewers, climbing four spots to rank #3 among Canadian entertainment specialty networks in the key A18-49 demo. The top-scoring program in December was THE BIG BANG THEORY where its top episode “The Hesitation Ramification”, delivered an audience of 567,000 viewers during THE COMPLETE BIG BANG-A-THON, which ran from December 24-30. This episode is also the top broadcast on Comedy this broadcast year-to-date.

Honourable mentions go to the Canadian premiere of JEFF DUNHAM: ALL OVER THE MAP which drew an audience of 512,000 viewers. His holiday special, JEFF DUNHAM’S VERY SPECIAL CHRISTMAS SPECIAL clocked in with an audience of 351,000 viewers on December 23. Last but not least, the bitter-sweet series finale of THE COLBERT REPORT on December 18 saw an audience of 296,000 viewers checking in for one final dose of truthiness.

January launched with a bang as Comedy claimed the top stop among entertainment specialties on New Year’s Day in the key A18-49 demo. Providing that boost were stand-up specials including Gabriel Iglesias’s ALOHA FLUFFY Part 1, Jeff Dunham’s ALL OVER THE MAP, and George Carlin’s CARLIN AT CARNEGIE, with each capturing an average audience of more than 200,000 total viewers.
