On the march toward SUPER BOWL XLIX, audiences for CTV’s comprehensive coverage of the NFL Playoffs are on the rise. Overnight data from Numeris confirms that the four games of the NFL Divisional Playoff Weekend attracted an average audience of 1.4 million viewers, an 11% increase over last year.
The top-rated NFL Divisional Playoff Weekend game saw an average audience of 1.6 million viewers tune in to watch the Green Bay Packers’ nail-biter victory over the Dallas Cowboys. The audience peaked late in the 4th quarter with 2.3 million viewers as a controversial catch by Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant was ruled an incomplete pass.
Overall, 12.9 million unique viewers have tuned into CTV and TSN for the networks’ coverage of the NFL Playoffs.

Audiences for the NFL Playoffs were up following a successful first season of Bell Media’s expanded Canadian broadcast agreement with the NFL, which saw CTV take over the Sunday 4 p.m. ET package for the first time. Sunday 4 p.m. ET games attracted an average audience of 784,000 viewers, an increase of 86% over last year.
CTV’s coverage of the NFL Playoffs continues this weekend with Championship Weekend, featuring the NFC and AFC Championship games. This marks the final step on the road to SUPER BOWL XLIX, which airs live from University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz on Sunday, Feb. 1 on CTV.
