TV GORD’S WHAT’S ON FOR THE WEEK OF March 7 – 13, 2016

Sunday

The Oscars – 8:30 to 11:30 on ABC/CTV
Chris Rock hosts the Academy Awards, but coverage starts at 1:30pm on E! with a countdown to the red carpet festivities. The official red carpet event is on ABC starting at 7pm, while CTV does its own take on the celebrity entrances starting at 6:30.
Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the Oscars – 12:05am (approximate) on ABC
A star-studded Oscar after-party with Ben Affleck, Tracy Morgan, J.K. Simmons, Mike Tyson, Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, Henry Cavill and Jesse Eisenberg and more. There will also be comedy segments that inevitably go viral on Monday morning, but you can catch them here first!

Monday

The Voice – 8 to 10pm on NBC/CTV Two – 10th Season Premiere

Tuesday

Angie Tribeca – 10:30pm on Comedy – Series Premiere
Rashida Jones stars in this Police-Squad-esque satire of police procedurals. Angie Tribeca works for the RHCU, the Really Heinous Crime Unit, and she’s surrounded by colleagues with oddly familiar names, such as Jay Geils, Chet Atkins, DJ Tanner and medical examiner Dr. Scholls. The series was created by Steve Carell and his wife, Nancy Walls (who were both correspondents on The Daily Show back in the day).

Wednesday

Looped – 6pm on Teletoon – Series Premiere
This Canadian animated series follows the exploits of 12-year-old best friends Luc and Theo, who get stuck in a time loop where they have to repeat the same Monday over and over and over. The only differences in each day are created by them. The first episode reveals their origin story.
The Family – 8pm on CTV (Also Thursday at 9 on ABC) – Series Premiere
The preview of this political drama airs at these special times before moving to regular slot on Sunday the 6th at 9pm. Joan Allen stars as a family matriarch who’s running for governor when the son who disappeared a decade earlier mysteriously returns without explanation.
The Real O’Neals – Two episodes at 8:30 and 9:30 on ABC/City – Series Premiere
This comedy follows the lives of a close-knit Chicago family with Catholic roots whose secrets are revealed to one another, turning their whole family dynamic upside down. Martha Plimpton (Raising Hope, The Good Wife) stars as the family matriarch. The series is based on an idea by writer and activist Dan Savage.
Big Brother Canada – 9pm on Global – 4th Season Premiere
