CTV announced today that Robert Hurst will step down as President of CTV News and Current Affairs. Hurst will remain with CTV News until his successor is named in the coming weeks.

Named President in September, 2002, CTV News has become Canada’s first choice for both national and local news under Hurst’s leadership. As President, he oversees all aspects of CTV’s national, international and local news operations including Canada’s #1 newscast CTV News with Lloyd Robertson.
Hurst has been with CTV for 38 years and became News Director of CFTO News in Toronto when he was only 26 years old. Since then, he has distinguished himself as an award-winning reporter, a foreign correspondent, news editor, and author. Hurst was a correspondent for 25 years assigned to among other places, Beijing, Moscow and Washington.
