Rogers Sportsnet recorded its second-highest regional hockey audience for this season with 872,000 (2+) for the Toronto Maple Leafs-Buffalo Sabres game on Tuesday, March 29 on Sportsnet Ontario.
Sportsnet also attracted its highest total for an evening of NHL hockey across three regional channels with 1.4 million Canadians (2+) on Tuesday, March 29.
The broadcast for the Leafs and Sabres game was up 25 per cent from last season’s average of 656,000. The highest-rated Leafs broadcast on Sportsnet Ontario was 956,200 during last month’s game against the Montreal Canadiens on February 24.
In addition, the Sportsnet Connected prime edition following the Leafs game was the highest ever with 523,000 viewers, up 96 per cent over the season average of 268,000.
The Vancouver Canucks’ 3-1 win over the Nashville Predators drew an audience of 436,000 on Sportsnet Pacific, eight per cent above last season’s average of 403,000 viewers. Sportsnet Connected following the Canucks game captured 248,000 viewers, 58 per cent higher over the season average of 157,000.
Sportsnet East had 132,000 viewers witness the Ottawa Senators lose 5-2 to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
