Team Canada Sweeps into Saskatchewan for the 2011 FORD WORLD MEN’S CURLING CHAMPIONSHIP

This weekend, Team Canada’s Jeff Stoughton and his Manitoba rink head to Regina, SK for the 2011 FORD WORLD MEN’S CURLING CHAMPIONSHIP. Sweeping coverage starts Saturday, April 2 at 3:30 p.m. ET live on TSN with Canada’s opening draw against Switzerland. TSN’s exclusive live coverage runs from April 2 to 10 featuring every Team Canada draw, the Page Playoffs, Semifinal and Final (see complete broadcast schedule below).

Canada is represented by the 2011 TIM HORTONS BRIER winner, Team Manitoba, led by skip Stoughton, third Jon Mead, second Reid Carruthers and lead Steve Gould. Former world champion Stoughton, coming off a solid BRIER tournament, has home ice advantage as he guides his team against the world’s top men’s curlers. In total, Team Canada will play 11 round-robin draws.

TSN’s acclaimed curling broadcast team is also in Regina, SK with Vic Rauter calling the action alongside Olympic gold medallist Linda Moore and two-time Brier Champion and Olympic gold medallist, Russ Howard.

Saskatchewan is the current curling hotspot. On top of hosting the 2011 FORD WORLD MEN’S CURLING CHAMPIONSHIP, the province’s women’s team, led by Amber Holland, won the 2011 SCOTTIES TOURNAMENT OF HEARTS and captured silver at the 2011 CAPITAL ONE WORLD WOMEN’S CURLING CHAMPIONSHIP.

The 2011 FORD WORLD MEN’S CURLING CHAMPIONSHIP follows the successful 2011 TIM HORTONS BRIER, which attracted more than 7.8 million unique viewers at some point during TSN’s 62 hours of live BRIER coverage. Overall, the 2011 TIM HORTONS BRIER was the most-watched BRIER ever.
