More Choice. More Games. Fear No More. Sportsnet Going “Over the Top” with Expanded SN NOW+ Service

Not at home for tonight’s big game? No problem. Out of town for a business trip? Got you covered. As audience viewing habits continue to evolve, so too does Sportsnet. In 2016, Sportsnet introduced SN NOW, the first mainstream North American sports service to stream direct-to-consumer. Today, SN NOW is expanding to provide viewers with more choice and more content via a tiered-package approach and the introduction of SN NOW+.

SN NOW+ includes everything available in the original SN NOW package, but with more games, more choice and more exclusive content. Most notably, and in time with the beginning of the NHL season, SN NOW+ lifts regional blackout restrictions for every NHL game that is exclusive to Sportsnet*, offering more than 500 blackout-free games. SN NOW+ is available as a direct-to-consumer service for $27.99/month.

The basic SN NOW tier continues to provide fans with a direct feed of what is available on Sportsnet’s television channels, including the Sportsnet regional channels (Sportsnet Ontario, East, West and Pacific), Sportsnet ONE and Sportsnet 360.  The service gives fans access to all of Sportsnet’s core content, including all national NHL games, in-market games for Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Raptors, Blue Jays, WWE and more.  SN NOW is now offered at a reduced price of $19.99/month for direct-to-consumer customers and remains available at no additional cost for Sportsnet cable, satellite and IPTV subscribers.

“This is all about choice and responding to how new audiences want to consume their content. We are constantly encouraging innovation at Sportsnet, continuing to remain at the forefront of industry trends and providing the best overall sports viewing experience both on TV and through our DTC products,” said Bart Yabsley, Senior Vice-President, Sports & Entertainment Partnerships and Content Distribution, Rogers Media. “The NHL is easily the most coveted content in Canada. When you combine our core content with the lifting of the NHL blackout restrictions and all of the other enhanced coverage, we believe SN NOW+ is far and away the best direct-to-consumer choice on the market for sports fans.”

In addition to increased NHL coverage, SN NOW+ subscribers will also be getting nearly 200 Premier League matches, 300 additional Bundesliga games, more than 55 FA Cup matches plus added Premiership Rugby and Super League Rugby coverage.

SN NOW and SN NOW+ are now available for purchase at snnow.ca and are available for use through laptop and desktop web browsers and the Sportsnet App on iPhone, iPad, as well as Android mobile and tablet devices. SN NOW and SN NOW+ are also available on 4th generation Apple TV boxes, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Google Chromecast.

*Sportsnet exclusive games are those where the rights are exclusively held by Sportsnet in Canada. If a regional out-of-market game is on more than one network, the game is subject to NHL restrictions.
