Citytv Programming:
Toronto’s source for local news, CityNews, was recognized with two Gemini nominations for Best Breaking Reportage, Local for Cynthia Mulligan’s story, Lightning Strikes, and Pam Seatle’s coverage of the Toronto garbage strike. The CityNews team of Tina Cortese, Katia Del Col, Ramneek Gill, Kathleen O’Keefe and Amar Sodhi, earned an additional nomination for Best Breaking News Coverage.

Citytv’s Murdoch Mysteries earned five nominations including, Best Writing in a Dramatic Series, Best Photography in a Dramatic Program or Series, Best Achievement in Make up, Best Original Music Score for a Program or Series and Best Performance by an Actress in a Guest Role, Dramatic Series. Murdoch Mysteries explores the intriguing world of William Murdoch, a handsome young detective using radical forensic techniques, like fingerprinting and trace evidence, to solve some of the city’s most gruesome murders. Season 4 of Murdoch Mysteries is set to premiere early 2011.
The animated series Glenn Martin, DDS, garnered nods for Best Animated Program or Series and Best Direction in an Animated Program or Series. Glenn Martin, DDS returns for a second season this fall on Citytv.
The Citytv special Hot Toxic Love: The Making of Toxic Avenger Musical, earned two nominations in the Best Performance in a Performing Arts Program or Series category.
OLN Programming:
The OLN original series Mantracker garnered three Gemini nominations including Best Direction in a Reality Program or Series, Best Photography in an Information Program or Series and Best Picture Editing in an Information Program or Series. Season 5 of Mantracker returns with wilder prey, tougher terrain and even more adventure September 6 on OLN.
Chronicling the adventures, unforgettable friendships, personal successes and sometimes crushing disappointments of Ontario natives Scott Wilson, Justin Lukach and Andre Dupuis, Departures picked up nods for Best Photography in an Information Program or Series and two for Best Picture Editing in an Information Program or Series.
Ed’s Up earned a Best Host or Interviewer in a General/Human Interest or Talk Program or Series nomination for Canadian TV personality and Barenaked Ladies front man, Ed Robertson.
Travel series Word Travels and Which Way Too… garnered nominations for Best Documentary Series and Best Photography in an Information Program or Series respectively.
