BBC Earth brings viewers the highly-anticipated and revealing series following climate activist Greta Thunberg as she seeks to raise awareness of the accelerating climate change in Greta Thunberg: A Year to Change the World (3×60’). Over the course of the three-part documentary series, Greta travels to extraordinary locations across the globe where the impact of a changing climate is becoming apparent, both for the planet and the human costs. From Alberta, Canada’s oil sands and melting glaciers to the coal mines of Europe, the documentary shines a light on the first-hand consequences of greenhouse gas emissions. Filming for Greta Thunberg: A Year to Change the World began in Autumn 2019 when 16 year-old Greta took a year off from school to embark on an international mission to spread her message on a global stage, transfixing the world as she challenged those in power from diplomats at the United Nations to the world’s economic elite at Davos. As the COVID-19 pandemic brought the world to a standstill, the cameras continued filming with Greta at home in Sweden.
