JULY 1 – NO SUDDEN MOVE *Movie Premiere*
- From director Steven Soderbergh, the new feature film NO SUDDEN MOVE, from Warner Bros. Pictures, starring Don Cheadle (BLACK MONDAY), Benicio Del Toro (Sicario), David Harbour (STRANGER THINGS), and Jon Hamm (MAD MEN), drops Thursday, July 1. Set in 1954 Detroit, NO SUDDEN MOVE centres on a group of small-time criminals who are hired to steal what they think is a simple document. When their plan goes horribly wrong, their search for who hired them – and for what ultimate purpose – weaves them through all echelons of the race-torn, rapidly changing city. Additional cast include Amy Seimetz (THE GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE), Brendan Fraser (The Mummy), Kieran Culkin (SUCCESSION), Noah Jupe (THE UNDOING), Craig muMs Grant (HIGHTOWN), Julia Fox (Uncut Gems), Frankie Shaw (SMILF), with Ray Liotta (GoodFellas), and Bill Duke (BLACK LIGHTNING).
JULY 2 – JUDAS & THE BLACK MESSIAH *Movie Premiere*
- Following its premiere at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival, the Academy Award-winning film JUDAS & THE BLACK MESSIAH begins streaming Friday, July 2. Based on real events, the film tells the story of FBI informant William O’Neal (LaKeith Stanfield, ATLANTA) who infiltrates the Illinois Black Panther Party and is tasked with keeping tabs on their charismatic leader, Chairman Fred Hampton (Daniel Kaluuya, Black Panther). A career thief, O’Neal revels in the danger of manipulating both his comrades and his handler, Special Agent Roy Mitchell (Jesse Plemons, Fargo). Hampton’s political prowess grows just as he’s falling in love with fellow revolutionary Deborah Johnson (Dominique Fishback, THE DEUCE). Meanwhile, a battle wages for O’Neal’s soul; will he align with the forces of good? Or, will he subdue Hampton and The Panthers by any means, as FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover commands?
JULY 2 – INTERGALACTIC *Series Premiere*
- All eight episodes of the sci-fi series INTERGALACTIC drop Friday, July 2, after being rescheduled from its original premiere in June. Written by award-winning showrunner, Julie Gearey (PRISONERS’ WIVE), INTERGALACTIC tells the story of a fearless young cop and galactic pilot, Ash Harper (Savannah Steyn, A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES), who has her glittering career ripped away from her after being wrongly convicted of a treasonous crime, and exiled to a distant prison colony. But on the way there, Ash’s fellow convicts stage a mutiny and seize control of their prison transfer ship.
JULY 8 – HBO MAX’s GOSSIP GIRL *Series Premiere*
- HBO Max’s GOSSIP GIRL, the much-anticipated extension of the pop culture classic premieres Thursday, July 8. Developed by showrunner Joshua Safran, a writer and executive producer on the original series, the reboot goes back to the Upper East Side, finding a new generation of New York private school teens being introduced to social surveillance, nine years after the original blogger’s website went dark. GOSSIP GIRL explores just how much social media, and the landscape of New York itself, has changed in the intervening years. The series stars Jordan Alexander (SACRED LIES), Eli Brown (Run, Hide, Fight), Thomas Doherty (Descendants), Tavi Gevinson (Enough Said), Emily Alyn Lind (REVENGE), Evan Mock, Zion Moreno (CONTROL Z), Whitney Peak (CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA), and Savannah Lee Smith. GOSSIP GIRL follows a weekly release schedule, with new episodes dropping Thursdays. In addition, all seasons of the original GOSSIP GIRL series are now available for streaming on Crave.
JULY 11 – HBO’s THE WHITE LOTUS *Series Premiere*
- HBO’s six-episode limited series THE WHITE LOTUS premieres Sunday, July 11 at 9 p.m. ET. Created, written, and directed by Mike White (ENLIGHTENED), the social satire is set at an exclusive Hawaiian resort, The White Lotus, and follows the vacations of various hotel guests over the span of a week as they relax and rejuvenate in paradise. With each passing day, a darker complexity emerges in these picture-perfect travelers, the hotel’s cheerful employees, and the idyllic locale itself. JULY 12 – HBO’s CATCH AND KILL: THE PODCAST TAPES *Series Premiere*
- HBO’s six-part documentary series CATCH AND KILL: THE PODCAST TAPES premieres with two episodes Monday, July 12f at 9 p.m. ET. The series brings to life Ronan Farrow’s intimate, revealing interviews with whistleblowers, journalists, private investigators, and other sources, conducted for the Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist’s podcast and bestselling book Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies and A Conspiracy to Protect Predators. The series expands on the podcast and the book, with never-before-seen footage, and new insights into this culture-shaking story, including additional sound and imagery from documents, audio tapes, photos, archive footage, and illustrations. CATCH AND KILL: THE PODCAST TAPES follows a weekly release schedule, with two episodes dropping Mondays at 9 p.m. ET.
JULY 18 – STARZ’s POWER BOOK III: RAISING KANAN *Series Premiere*
- STARZ’s POWER BOOK III: RAISING KANAN, the third book in the growing POWER Universe, premieres Sunday, July 18. Set in the ’90s, the series chronicles the early years of Kanan Stark (Mekai Curtis), Ghost and Tommy’s mentor, partner, and adversary, who ultimately dies in the eighth episode of POWER’s penultimate season. Kanan is the 15-year-old only child of Raquel “Raq” Thomas (Patina Miller, MADAM SECRETARY), a cocaine distributor with an emerging network of dealers across the city. RAISING KANAN explores themes of identity, violence, and legacy, and also delves into the very pathology of family. JULY 30 – TOM & JERRY *Movie Premiere*
- The family-friendly movie TOM & JERRY drops on Crave on Friday, July 30. One of the most beloved rivalries in history is reignited when Jerry moves into New York City’s finest hotel on the eve of “the wedding of the century,” forcing the event’s desperate planner to hire Tom to get rid of him. The ensuing cat and mouse battle threatens to destroy her career, the wedding, and possibly the hotel itself. But soon, an even bigger problem arises: a diabolically ambitious staffer conspiring against all three of them. TOM & JERRY stars Chloë Grace Moretz (Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising), Michael Peña (American Hustle), Rob Delaney (Deadpool 2), Colin Jost (SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE), and Ken Jeong (Crazy Rich Asians).

- Beginning Thursday, July 1, Crave highlights the best of Canadian television and film with the O Canada! Hub. JULY 1 – THE HOBBIT Theatrical and Extended Versions *Movie Premiere*
- Peter Jackson’s THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY and THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG begin streaming Thursday, July 1. Based on the 1937 literary classic by J.R.R. Tolkein, the films take place in the fictional world of Middle-earth sixty years before the beginning of The Lord of the Rings. Hobbit Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman, SHERLOCK) is convinced by the wizard Gandalf the Grey (Ian McKellen, The Lord of the Rings) to accompany thirteen dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage, HANNIBAL), on a quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain from the dragon Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch, PATRICK MELROSE). Both the theatrical and extended versions of the films will be available.
JULY 2 – MTV’s RUN’S HOUSE *Season 1-6 Premiere*
- All six seasons of the classic MTV reality series RUN’S HOUSE drop on Crave Friday, July 2. Originally premiering in 2005, the series follows family patriarch Rev Run, a.k.a. former Run–D.M.C. rapper Joseph Simmons, and his wife Justine as they raise a family of five kids. The family opens their doors and hearts to MTV’s cameras, following them at their family home in Saddle River, New Jersey, the Simmons offices in Manhattan, New York, and the apartment shared by Simmons’ daughters, Vanessa and Angela, in Los Angeles, California. Through the good times and bad, The Rev works to strike a balance between being a father, a reverend, and an icon, all in his attempt to keep rap’s royal family securely grounded while living a uniquely privileged lifestyle.
JULY 4 – SHOWTIME’s THE ONE AND ONLY DICK GREGORY *Documentary Premiere*
- SHOWTIME’s THE ONE AND ONLY DICK GREGORY drops Sunday, July 4 at 9 p.m. ET, a feature-length documentary about the comedian and activist who specialized in cultural disruption. Featuring interviews with Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Kevin Hart, Wanda Sykes, W. Kamau Bell, and others, the film unpacks Gregory’s career as a stand-up comic, activist, pop-culture icon, and thought leader who affected the lives of millions through constant disruption and awareness. He inspired a generation through on-the-ground activism, an untiring desire to help, and his influential comedy. Executive Produced by Kevin Hart and Lena Waithe, the film features archival footage of Gregory’s early career onstage and is bookended with Gregory’s own voice just before his death in 2017, reflecting on the impact of his life on the world as a self-described “agitator.”
JULY 9 – SHOWTIME’s PETE LEE: TALL, DARK AND PLEASANT *Comedy Special Premiere*
- Pete Lee takes the stage in his first SHOWTIME comedy special, PETE LEE: TALL, DARK, AND PLEASANT, premiering Friday, July 9 at 9 p.m. ET. Filmed at the Tempe Improv in Arizona, the special dives into Lee’s outrageous struggles with people pleasing, relationships, sex, drugs, and motion-sensor sinks. In this hour-long special directed by Brian Volk-Weiss, Lee educates the audience on why it sucks to be a nice guy and how he hates conflict, unless the person he’s talking to likes it – then he of course does too.
JULY 18 – SHOWTIME’s THE END *Series Premiere*
- SHOWTIME’s new half-hour dark comedy series THE END, starring Emmy nominee Harriet Walter (SUCCESSION) and Frances O’Connor (THE MISSING), premieres with two episodes Sunday, July 18at 8 p.m. ET. In THE END, three generations of a family live with separate but intersecting obsessions – trying to figure out how to die with dignity, live with none, and make it all count. The series centres on Dr. Kate Brennan (O’Connor), an Australian-based specialist in palliative care. Euthanasia is a hot-button topic in Kate’s field of work, and she is passionate in her opposition. On the other side of the world, Kate’s mother Edie Henley (Walter) feels just as strongly about her right to die. Kate has little choice but to ship Edie out from England and deposit her in Australia’s Gold Coast in a nearby retirement community. While Kate struggles with her own problems, her children, one of whom is a teenage trans boy, are trying to work out who they are and who they want to be. THE END follows a weekly release schedule, with two new episodes dropping Sundays at 8 p.m. ET
JULY 18 – HBO’s 100 FOOT WAVE *Series Premiere*
The HBO documentary series 100 FOOT WAVE premieres Sunday, July 18 at 10 p.m. ET, directed and executive produced by award-winning filmmaker Chris Smith and executive produced by Emmy® and Golden Globe®-winner Joe Lewis. The six-part series intimately captures the decade-long odyssey of surfing pioneer Garrett McNamara, who, after visiting Nazaré, Portugal in hopes of conquering a 100-foot wave, pushed the sport to ever-greater heights and alongside locals helped transform the small fishing village into the world’s preeminent big-wave surfing destination. 100 FOOT WAVE follows a weekly release schedule, with new episodes dropping Sundays at 10 p.m. ET.
JULY 30 – SHOWTIME’s KEVIN GARNETT: ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE *Documentary Premiere*
- From SHOWTIME Sports, the documentary KEVIN GARNETT: ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE premieres Friday, July 30 at 9 p.m. ET. The film spotlights Garnett’s remarkable career as one of the NBA’s all-time greats, and the progressive moments that defined it. The film explores how Garnett’s decision to become the first player in two decades to go to the NBA directly out of high school changed the face of the NBA and ushered in a phenomenon that reverberated beyond the league and even the sport. In addition to Garnett, the film features a range of dynamic voices and characters including Doc Rivers, Allen Iverson, Isiah Thomas, Paul Pierce, Matt Barnes, Rajon Rondo, Snoop Dogg, Sam Cassell, Pau Gasol, and more.
