Prairie Dog Film + Television begins production on the highly anticipated third season of Blackstone this Sunday March 24.
“We’re very excited about the calibre of talent on this show,” says Executive Producer Ron E. Scott, “and Season 3 is going to be the most provocative yet.”
Blackstone’s powerhouse lineup of talent returns to the show, and includes Carmen Moore, Eric Schweig, Michelle Thrush, Nathaniel Arcand, Steven Cree Molison, Andrea Menard, Tantoo Cardinal, and Garry Chalk.
New to the series are John Cassini (Arrow, Intelligence), Tinsel Korey (Sanctuary, The Twilight Saga), Cheri Maracle (Moccasin Flats, Blackfly), Bronson Pelletier (Renegade Press, The Twilight Saga), Wayne Baker(Pathfinder, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee) and Dakota House (The Horses of McBride, One Dead Indian).
Intense, compelling and confrontational, Blackstone is an unmuted exploration of power, politics and relationships on the fictional Blackstone First Nation. This original dramatic TV series is unlike any other show on the air today. Entertaining and informative, Blackstone is a story of hope and reconciliation in its portrayal of Native people fighting for better lives – on and off the reserve. To date, Blackstone has won 20 awards and received 49 award nominations, including three nominations at this year’s Canadian Screen Awards.
Blackstone is produced by Prairie Dog Film + Television, with Ron E. Scott as Executive Producer, Writer and Director, Jesse Szymanski as Producer, and Damon Vignale as Writer/Producer. Blackstone is also produced in association with Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN), with the participation of the Canada Media Fund, with the assistance of the Government of Alberta, Alberta Multimedia Development Fund, with the participation of Rogers Cable Network Fund, and with the assistance of the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit. Blackstone currently broadcasts in Canada on APTN, and in New Zealand on Maori Television. LA-based PPI Releasing distributes the series internationally.
