New programming :
Men with Brooms
On the surface, there’s not all that much to say about Long Bay. It’s a rural small town, much like any one of the thousand other small towns that dot the country – the corner doughnut shop, the struggling economy, the small manufacturers, the crazy characters… and the local five-sheet curling club, with carpet from the forties, and greasy fish & chips.
Men with Brooms picks up the ongoing story of Long Bay through the adventures and misadventures of four careworn young men brought together by a love of “shuffleboard-on-ice.” While not great curlers, they’re frequent curlers – and what they lack in talent, they make up for in enthusiasm. This new program based loosely on the movie of the same name, features Paul Gross as narrator of the series and Executive Producer.
Debbie Travis Reality Show (title TBD)
From small farming towns to tight-knit suburban enclaves to diverse downtown neighbourhoods. CANADA IS BUILT ON COMMUNITY. At the heart of every community is that ONE special person who gives to their community. Now the community gives back…
Each episode will tell a compelling story as Debbie takes viewers with her into a community where she leads and inspires each and every person to get involved in fulfilling the task at hand: recognizing and rewarding their local unsung hero
Along the way, viewers will learn about the effect that hero had on the community, and they will witness the community journey as they come together to rally round the hero and to create the community they always wanted, but perhaps never knew was possible
The transformation of the home elements will be accomplished by Debbie and the community working together – not with a professional design crew.
