CBC Announces Fall 2023 Podcast and Audio Lineup

CBC, Canada’s public broadcaster and #1 Canadian podcaster, today shared details about its podcast and audio slate for Fall 2023. The upcoming podcast season introduces several all-new series including: BLOODLINES, a powerful exploration into the children caught up in the ISIS Caliphate web; CRIME STORY, a weekly conversation with some of the most compelling storytellers about notorious true crime investigations in recent history; and GAY GIRL GONE about the disappearance of a revolutionary blogger in Syria, fighting for justice and gay liberation.

The fall lineup also features an exclusive Canadian interview with Mick Jagger on Q WITH TOM POWER, the return of groundbreaking investigative series SOMEONE KNOWS SOMETHING and a new iteration of acclaimed comedy LET’S MAKE A HORROR.

True Crime/Investigative – Launches Monday, September 18 
Angel Carlick was about to graduate high school when she disappeared from Whitehorse, Yukon in 2007. Her remains were found six months later. Her murder is still unsolved. LET’S MAKE A HORROR (CBC podcast, 10 episodes)
Comedy – Launches Wednesday, October 11
From the team behind the Webby award-winning LET’S MAKE A SCI-FI and LET’S MAKE A ROM-COM comes the newest installment, LET’S MAKE A HORROR, just in time for Halloween. Over 10 episodes, hosts Maddy KellyMark Chavez, and Ryan Beil will attempt to make audiences laugh (and scream) as they learn what it takes to make a truly frightening horror movie. They’ll meet the creators who make horror such an enduring genre and the people who love to be scared, and take a stab at their own short, shocking film.

Maddy, Mark and Ryan will also be performing a live episode at the Just For Laughs Festival in Toronto on Saturday, September 30 (for more information click here), and at On Air Fest in L.A. on Wednesday, November 1 (for more information click here).

There are thousands of kids like Salmaan, with roots in Canada, the U.K., the U.S. and beyond — some of whom are still trapped without a way back home or claim to their own bloodline. BBC investigative reporter Poonam Taneja, who’s covered the ISIS story for many years, embarks on a dangerous journey to find out what happened to Salmaan and all the kids like him, left behind in the Syrian desert. The result is a twisted yarn that spans the globe and challenges our thinking on love, politics and identity in cyberspace. What happened to Amina and uncovers a dangerous world of secret police, forbidden love, and deception on the world wide web.
