Northern Super League Scores Milestone Media Partnerships with Bell Media and CBC/Radio-Canada

Northern Super League, Canada’s professional women’s soccer league, is thrilled to announce a multi-year media partnership with Bell Media’s TSN /RDS and CBC/Radio-Canada. With this agreement, fans across the country can tune in to experience the passion and excitement of live Northern Super League action, beginning with the league’s inaugural season in April 2025.

TSN will broadcast a slate of games across its platforms, with RDS delivering live French-language coverage of select matches featuring the Northern Super League’s club in Montreal. CBC Sports and Radio-Canada will deliver matches across their national network and digital platforms.

Fans can expect announcements regarding the inaugural season schedule and full broadcast schedule at a later date.

“We are delighted to announce Bell Media and CBC/Radio-Canada as our official media partners,” said Diana Matheson, Founder, Northern Super League. “Ensuring our matches are available to Canadians is key to the long-term growth and viability of professional women’s soccer. Our players have been behind the scenes for too long. Having Bell Media and CBC/Radio-Canada put a national spotlight on our Canadian professional players is a huge win for fans and creates a lasting impact on women’s sport in this country.”

Bell Media is home to a deep and diverse roster of live sports events and is renowned for sharing the biggest moments in sports with Canadians across the TSN and RDS networks. CBC/Radio-Canada, Canada’s national public broadcaster and Olympic and Paralympic network, has a rich history of showcasing sports events and engaging audiences with its exceptional programming.

“We are thrilled to be an official media partner of the Northern Super League and bring this new league to Canadians,” said Shawn Redmond, VP, Bell Media Sports. “As home to the biggest events in soccer, we are excited to bring Northern Super League matches to fans across the country. This partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to showcasing the very best women’s sports competitions from around the world.”

Catherine Tait, President and CEO, CBC/Radio-Canada, echoed the enthusiasm, stating,  “CBC/Radio-Canada is proud to provide a national stage for the Northern Super League and to continue to deliver on our commitment of showcasing women’s sports across all of our platforms. Soccer keeps winning more and more fans across the country, and we are delighted to bring them all the excitement and drama of the Northern Super League matches.”

In addition to coverage from its official media partners, the Northern Super League has confirmed plans to leverage its own platforms to tell the diverse stories within the league. Fans and supporters will gain full access and a unique inside look at the clubs and their players moving forward.

The Northern Super League’s partnership with Bell Media and CBC/Radio-Canada marks a significant milestone in the growth and development of professional women’s soccer in Canada. With the support of its founding corporate partners, Canadian Tire Corporation, DoorDash, CIBC and Air Canada, the Northern Super League aims to continue to captivate audiences, inspire young athletes, and foster a thriving soccer culture in the country.
