Vancouver-based Dreamfilm Productions is pleased to announce that filming has begun on their new documentary “Thoroughly Modern Marriage.” The one-hour program will provide an in-depth look at the state of marriage, our most fascinating social institution. Filming takes place in Canada, the United States, the UK, and China until fall 2010. “Thoroughly Modern Marriage” premieres on CBC’s Doc Zone in winter 2011.
“Marriage is an institution that has undergone dizzying change over the last fifty years,” says Sue Ridout, executive producer of Dreamfilm Productions. ” ’Thoroughly Modern Marriage’ asks the central question, can marriage be saved? Should it be?”
“Thoroughly Modern Marriage” is directed and produced by Sue Ridout and story-produced by Sara Darling. Director of photography is John Collins and Tim Wanlin is editor. “Thoroughly Modern Marriage” is produced by Dreamfilm Productions in association with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Produced with the participation of the Canadian Television Fund created by the Government of Canada and the Canadian cable industry, the Province of British Columbia Film Incentive BC, and the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit.
