Tony Parsons, Canada’s most watched local news anchor, today joins CBC News Vancouver as co-host of the local supper hour newscast. Parsons will add his considerable talent and insight into Vancouver’s local news scene to the strong team of Gloria Macarenko, Claire Martin and Shane Foxman. Parsons will be seen on CBC News Vancouver weekdays at 5:00 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., beginning today.
“Tony Parsons has been synonymous with local news in Vancouver for 35 years and we’re thrilled to welcome him to the CBC News Vancouver team,” said Johnny Michel, Managing Director, BC Region, CBC. “He is the most recognizable face in local news and has an innate gift to get to the heart of what matters for Vancouverites.
Parsons’ impressive career achievements include being inducted to the Broadcast Hall of Fame and receiving the Bruce Hutchison Lifetime Achievement Award by the Jack Webster Foundation. His first book, A Life in the News was published in 2009 and is a bestseller in B.C.
