City Announces 2014 Mid-Season Premiere Dates

City rings in the New Year with style, ushering in a host of highly anticipated new and returning comedies and dramas to the mid-season lineup. With five new and five returning series, beginning Thursday, Jan. 2  – City keeps the momentum going all winter long with the hottest and most compelling shows this season.

New to City’s roster of proven hits are a collection of star-studded dramas and eagerly awaited comedies. Anchoring the mid-season schedule is Resurrection. Written and produced by Aaron Zelman (Damages, The Killing) and starring acclaimed actor Omar Epps (House), this gripping new series takes place in the small town of Arcadia where residents are forever changed when their deceased loved ones suddenly start returning from the dead – as though not even a day has gone by.

Adding to the action-packed mid-season is the emotionally charged, adrenaline-pumping thriller Crisis, starring Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friend’s Wedding) and Gillian Anderson (The X-Files)Plus, from executive producer Sofia Vergara (Modern Family) comes the sexy Texas ranger action drama Killer Women, starring Canadian actor Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica).

As the network where Canada comes to laugh, this winter, City salutes freshman military comedy Enlistedstarring Geoff Stults (How I Met Your Mother)Then, adding mayhem to mid-season nights is the mother of all animated comedies – edgy original series Mother Up!starring Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives).

Rounding out the lineup are returning cult-hit comedy Community, hilarious series Suburgatory, critically acclaimed dramedy Shameless, and an all-new season of homegrown original comedy series Seed. Alsofamily comedy Last Man Standing joins the City schedule in simulcast starting January 3.

As previously announced, City is the exclusive Canadian broadcaster of the 56TH Annual GRAMMY Awards®, live on Sunday, Jan. 26. Leading up to the highly anticipated awards broadcast, City will bring audiences exclusive Canadian coverage of the celebrity arrivals as part of the Entertainment City: Live from the GRAMMYs red carpet special.
