Cityline Gets a Makeover

After giving viewers fabulous makeovers for the last 28 years, Cityline receives a makeover itself and unveils a brand-new vibrant look today on Citytv.  On today’s show, Cityline – Canada’s longest-running and most successful Canadian daytime show for women – debuts a  revamped, contemporary set, logo and on-air graphics, and continues to be the leading source for all things fashion, home décor, lifestyle, health and food with expert content – now only prettier.  Cityline airs weekdays at 9 a.m. ET/PT on Citytv.

“It was time for the studio to evolve to accurately reflect Cityline’s status as the leader in the lifestyle genre.  It’s the same content viewers have come to know and trust – but now with a more contemporary and engaging look and feel,” said Jordan Schwartz, Vice President of In-House Productions, Rogers Media. “Now with our world-class set, we are able to better showcase our esteemed experts, premium content and our seasoned host, Tracy Moore.”

Setting the scene for an enriched viewing experience, the new studio space includes:

·         Eight state-of-the-art, flat screen monitors with the ability to showcase iPad apps, while also featuring spectacular graphic photography

·         New on-set lighting highlights the unlimited set options guest experts can use for cooking segments, fashion shows, design vignettes, interviews and performances

·         Revamped flooring, furniture, and on-set look breathe new life into the space, accurately reflecting the Cityline brand, audience, and the inspiring content brought to viewers on a regular basis

·         New on-set graphics, including a redesigned streamlined  logo and title, that reflects Cityline’s contemporary, trend-forward content

Debuting simultaneously with the new set, the refreshed Cityline brand will also be reflected on every on-air element, including graphics, logo and the new, community-oriented intro, shot on-location throughout Toronto in some of Moore’s favourite locations.

“For more than 28 years, Cityline has been a fixture in Canadian daytime television,” said Dean Bender, Vice-President of Creative and Promotion, Rogers Broadcast. “Cityline’s rich history of connecting with its viewers is now enhanced with this contemporary and effervescent new look.”

Broadcast from Toronto’s Citytv studios, fan engagement has never been stronger.  In Toronto, Cityline attracts nearly double the audience of its closest competitors  – The Marilyn Denis Show (CTV) and Steven and Chris (CBC) – among the F18-49 and F25-54 demos by margins of 40 per cent and 80 per cent, respectively.  A Citytv original series, Cityline also outperforms U.S. imports, including Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil and The View in the above key demos in the Toronto market.
