Citytv Announces Fall 2012 Premiere Dates and Online Previews

Hot off the network’s most successful broadcast year to date, Citytv announced today its fall 2012 premiere dates for eight new and 18 returning hit series. With the most eagerly-awaited season of television just a month away, Citytv delivers more hits, more laughs, and more suspense this fall with a winning combination of proven hits and fresh new series added to the 2012 lineup, beginning Monday, Sept. 10. Rounding out its most acclaimed fall schedule yet, Citytv will also be launching two digital previews on Citytv.com for two of this season’s most buzz-worthy new comedies.Kicking off Citytv’s fall season is the most anticipated new daytime talk show in recent years – Katie. Starring trusted journalist and former news anchor Katie Couric, the show’s “smart, with heart” approach highlights her fresh vision for an engaging and insightful hour of television for Citytv viewers.

From daytime talk to late-night laughs, critically-acclaimed host Jimmy Kimmel joins the lineup this fall. After helming his successful series Jimmy Kimmel Live! for more than a decade,  Kimmel brings his quick-witted, caustic humour to Citytv each night.
Also new to the roster are a slew of eagerly-awaited comedies and dramas featuring a pedigree of talent both in front of and behind the cameras.  From director Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Iron Man 2), and imagination geniuses J.J. Abrams (Lost, Person of Interest) and Eric Kripke (Supernatural), the 2012 schedule features the all-new dystopian drama Revolution, in addition to the nail-biting, psychological thriller 666 Park Avenue – based on the book series by Gabriella Pierce.

Then, delivering more laughs than ever before, new comedy The Mindy Project,from Emmy® Award-nominated writer/producer and New York Timesbest-selling author Mindy Kaling (The Office), headlines laughs on Citytv this fall alongside David Kohan and Max Mutchnick’s (Will & Grace) all-new situational comedy Partners. Academy Award® -winning writer (The Descendants) Nat Faxon starsin the hilarious new series Ben and Kate, while the reigning queen of country Reba McEntire (Reba) joins the schedule with Malibu Country.
Giving viewers an advanced look at some of this season’s most buzzworthy comedies – The Mindy Project and Ben and Kate– Citytv is offering an exclusive two-week digital preview of both series beginning Monday, Aug. 27 on Citytv.com, as well as Rogers’ suite of online offerings, including Rogers Anyplace TV and the Citytv Video App for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch.
