Citytv Announces Winter Prime-Time Schedule, Beginning January 1

Citytv is the gift that keeps on giving long after Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest on Saturday, Dec. 31, with a roster of new and returning hit series on its winter schedule, plus star-studded live events on Citytv, Citytv.com, and Citytv+.

Coming exclusively to Citytv+, on Amazon Prime Video, are all-new comedies Paul T. Goldman – directed by Jason Woliner (Borat Subsequent Moviefilm) and executive produced by Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg (Superbad, This Is the End) – starting Sunday, Jan. 1, and Colin From Accounts on Monday, Jan. 2. Paul T. Goldman is about a California insurance salesman with the same name, who contacted Woliner via Twitter with the tale of a clueless romantic (himself) who falls in love with the wrong woman who is leading a secret double life. Created, written by, and starring Patrick Brammall (Evil, No Activity) and Harriet Dyer (American Auto, The Invisible Man), Colin From Accounts follows two single(ish) complex humans who are brought together by a car accident and an injured dog. This new comedy is about flawed, funny people choosing each other and being brave enough to show their true self, scars and all, as they navigate life together. Brammall, Dyer, Trent O’Donnell, Alison Hurbert-Burns and Brian Walsh serve as executive producers. The series, commissioned by the Foxtel Group, is produced by Easy Tiger Productions and CBS Studios, with Rob Gibson and Ian Collie producing for Easy Tiger and is licensed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

And that’s not all! New mystery drama Poker Face, starring and executive produced by Natasha Lyonne (Orange is the New Black, Russian Doll), joins the Citytv+ lineup on Thursday, Jan. 26. Created, written, directed and executive produced by Rian Johnson (Knives Out, Glass Onion), Poker Face is a 10-episode mystery-of-the-week series following Charlie Cale (played by Lyonne) who has an extraordinary ability to determine when someone is lying. She hits the road with her Plymouth Barracuda and with every stop encounters a new cast of characters and strange crimes she can’t help but solve. Showrunners and executive producers are Nora Zuckerman and Lilla Zuckerman. Other executive producers are Ram Bergman, Nena Rodrigue and Iain B. MacDonald, alongside Maya Rudolph and Danielle Renfrew Behrens as co-producers. The series is produced by T-Street and MRC Television and is licensed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

Citytv officially kicks off awards season on Tuesday, Jan. 10 as The Hollywood Foreign Press Association marks The 80th Annual Golden Globe® Awards, beginning at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Then, The 65th Annual GRAMMY® Awards presented by The Recording Academy® return to Citytv (and Los Angeles!), featuring some of the world’s most-talented artists and spectacular performances on Sunday, Feb. 5. The 65th Annual GRAMMY® Awards is licensed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 17 is Citytv’s newest addition to its strong original programming slate Wong & Winchester, produced in partnership with Pixcom. Wong & Winchester is a female-driven buddy detective procedural which follows Marissa Wong (played by Grace Lynn Kung), a bitter ex-cop turned private investigator, and Sarah Winchester (played by Sofia Banzhaf), a former career student with ambitious naivety, who form an unlikely partnership. Earlier in the evening, Hudson & Rex’s paw-fect cop-and-canine duo return with new episodes in its new timeslot, Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Plus, Canada’s Got Talent, Citytv’s most-viewed original series in over a decade, returns with an all-new season this March.

Rounding out the schedule are new episodes of Quantum Leap on Mondays; Chicago Med/Fire/PD on Wednesdays; Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Law & Order: Organized Crime on Thursdays; and Lopez vs. Lopez and Young Rock on Fridays.

Citytv can be streamed via Citytv.com and Citytv+, available to Amazon Prime members in Canada.
