Citytv Greenlights New Original Documentary The Sky is the Limit

Citytv announced today the start of production on an all-new, original documentary The Sky is the Limit, showcasing Saskatchewan’s unprecedented economic boom.  The Sky is the Limit is the first Citytv production to begin in the province since Rogers Media acquired Saskatchewan Communications Network (SCN) and launchedCitytv Saskatchewan, which officially hit the airwaves July 1.  Slated to premiere exclusively on Citytv this September, The Sky is the Limit is produced by Saskatchewan-based Stephen Onda Productions Inc.  Full broadcast details to be announced at a later date.

“Citytv is committed to producing strong, Canadian programming, and this documentary reflects that mission and our pride in shining a spotlight on this country’s success stories,” said Claire Freeland, Director of Original Programming, Rogers Media Broadcasting.  “Charting the rise from agriculture and oil, to mining gold, uranium, and diamonds, this documentary brings the story of Saskatchewan’s inspiring economic growth to Canadian audiences in a way that both entertains and enlightens.”

A Saskatchewan native, executive producer and director Stephen Onda will combine a blend of exclusive interviews, archival footage, and never-before-seen on-site work footage to tell the stories of people meeting challenges, applying innovations, and building a new tomorrow.  Punctuated with a resounding “boom,” The Sky is the Limit travels to each region of the province (Northern, West Central, East Central, Southwest, and Southeast Saskatchewan) profiling an individual personally connected to each boom sector.

The Sky is the Limit is a Citytv original documentary, executive produced by Stephen Onda for Stephen Onda Productions Inc.  Claire Freeland is Director of Original Programming, Rogers Media Broadcasting and Carol Commisso is Production Executive for Rogers Original Programming.

The Sky is the Limit joins the roster of high-profile original series currently in production for Citytv including, The Bachelor Canada, Seed, and Package Deal.
