Citytv Programming Highlights: Monday, March 22- Sunday, March 28

How I Met Your Mother (s/CBS): Monday, March 22 at 8:00pm ET/PT/ MT (7:00pm CT)
When Ted (Josh Radnor ) ruins Lily’s (Alyson Hannigan ) birthday dinner celebration by bringing a date, Lily goes to great lengths to keep her out of the traditional photo she takes every year of the gang. Laura Prepon (That 70’s Show) and Anna Dudek (House) guest star.

Chuck (s/NBC): Monday, March 22 at 10:00pm ET/PT (9:00pm CT, 8:00pm MT)
Chuck (Zachary Levi) learns that his latest solo mission will be a final test to see if he is ready to be a spy. Chuck needs to put everything he has learned into action to avoid going back to his old life while Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) and Shaw (guest star Brandon Routh) observe his every move.

The Biggest Loser (s/NBC): Tuesday, March 23 at 8:00pm ET/PT (7:00pm CT, 9pm MT)
This week, the contestants return to their hometowns to visit family and friends. But with those happy reunions comes the challenge of continuing to eat right and exercise. After arriving home, the players also get a surprise – a gift crate with a stationary bicycle and a DVD explaining the at-home temptation and challenge that awaits them. Each contestant will ride the length of a full marathon (26.2 miles) on their new stationary bike – but they are also provided with a temptation in the form of 48 mini-cupcakes. For every cupcake a contestant may choose to eat, they can apply five minutes to the final ride time of any other player during the bike challenge. Later, the weigh-in back at the ranch reveals how they all did at home before another contestant is eliminated and sent home for good.

Parenthood (s/NBC): Tuesday, March 23 at 10:00pm ET/PT (9:00pm CT, 8:00pm MT)
Adam (Peter Krause) and Kristina (Monica Potter) use questionable tactics to find out about Haddie’s (Sarah Ramos) secret relationship. Sarah (Lauren Graham) doesn’t know how to talk to Drew (Miles Heizer) when he starts showing signs of becoming a man. Meanwhile, Jabbar (Tyree Brown) has a little accident while under Crosby’s (Dax Shepard) watch and Julia (Erika Christensen) and Joel (Sam Jaeger) are hesitant to let Amber (Mae Whitman) baby-sit for them.

Modern Family (s/ABC): Wednesday, March 24 at 9:00pm ET/PT (8:00pm CT, 10:00pm MT)
Claire (Julie Bowen) and Phil (Ty Burrell) each take on one of the kids’ school projects; Gloria (Sofia Vergara) and Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) bond during a night out.

Sara (guest star Sheryl Crow) a confident wine rep sets her sights on Grayson (Josh Hopkins); but is he strong enough to be her man? Meanwhile, when Ellie (Christa Miller) tells Jules (Courteney Cox) she can’t change past a certain age, Jules is determined to prove her wrong by giving up wine…for a month; and Bobby’s (Brian Van Holt) new dog poses some unwanted competition for Andy (Ian Gomez).

Pierce (Chevy Chase) is willing to do and wear whatever it takes to reach a new level of ascension in his Buddhist church. Meanwhile, Britta (Gillian Jacobs) secretly tries to shake her reputation as a “buzzkill,” resulting in a prank gone horribly wrong. Britta’s misguided attempt at levity forces new campus security officers Annie (Alison Brie) and Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown) to investigate the crime.

30 Rock (s/NBC): Thursday, March 25 at 9:30pm ET/PT (8:30pm CT, 10:30pm MT)
Liz reevaluates her feelings for an old flame, Floyd (guest star Jason Sudeikis), when he returns with big news, and Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin) teaches Danny Baker (guest star Cheyenne Jackson) the finer points of pranks after the TGS writers play a trick on him. Jenna Maroney (Jane Krakowski) and Tracy Jordan (Tracy Morgan) see Kenneth Parcell (Jack McBrayer) in a disturbing new light after they spend a very long day listening to him tell stories about his childhood.

Parks and Recreation (s/NBC):Thursday, March 25 at 8:30pm ET/PT (7:30pm CT, 9:30pm MT)
Preparing the Summer Events Catalog, Leslie (Amy Poehler) decides to take Ron (Nick Offerman) and the past directors of the Parks Department out for a picnic lunch. Tom (Aziz Ansari) enlists the help of Ann (Rashida Jones) and Mark (Paul Schneider) to pose for the cover photo.

The Marriage Ref (s/NBC): Thursday, March 25 at 10:00pm ET/PT (8:00pm MT, 9:00pm CT)
This week, new feuding couples bring their problems to Marriage Ref, Tom Papa, in the funny and revealing comedy series about the unpredictable and hilarious institution of marriage. Jerry Seinfeld, Alec Baldwin and Kelly Ripa serve on the celebrity panel this week offering their “expert” opinions to the Ref, advising and influencing his decision.

Who Do You Think You Are? (s/NBC): Friday, March 26 at 8:00pm ET/PT (9:00pm MT, 7:00pm CT)
Despite being extremely close to his father, Matthew Broderick knew very little about his paternal grandparents, James Joseph Broderick and Mary Martindale, both of whom had passed away by the time he was born. He’d heard rumours that his grandfather was a World War 1 hero, but were they true? Following in his grandfather’s footsteps, Matthew heads to the battlefields of Northern France, where he uncovers the extent of his grandfather’s bravery as part of the American Expeditionary Force during World War 1. Back in America, Matthew discovers that his grandmother Mary Martindale was also descended from a war hero – Robert Martindale was a union soldier in the Civil War. Intent on honouring Robert’s bravery, Matthew sets out to solve a 150-year-old mystery.

Murdoch Mysteries (Citytv Original) Sunday, March 28 at 9:00pm ET/CT/PT (7:00pm MT)
In a Masonic Temple, Victor Bernard (Kevin Dennis) drops dead during his initiation ceremony. Witnessing the suspicious death are fellow Masons Brackenreid (Thomas Craig) and Crabtree (Jonny Harris). They have to pull rank to convince their fellow members to allow Murdoch (Yannick Bisson), a catholic, and Ogden (Hélène Joy), a woman, into the temple to conduct their investigation of a closed and secretive membership which includes many of the city’s movers and shakers. As the investigation proceeds, Ogden discovers that Victor Bernard harboured a stunning secret that may have been led to his murder. Murdoch ultimately discovers the identity of the killer and the tragic irony that led to Bernard’s death.
