The hour-long drama follows divorced, single mother Gloria Sheppard (Ally Walker, SONS OF ANARCHY, PROFILER), a feather-ruffling LAPD homicide detective with an intuitive mind who struggles to balance her everyday life as the perfect mother, supportive sister, and kick-ass cop.

In the series premiere (Tuesday, September 13 at 8 p.m. ET on CTV Two), LAPD Detective Gloria Sheppard and her partner Michelle (Tisha Campbell-Martin, RITA ROCKS, MY WIFE AND KIDS) investigate what looks to be a mugging gone wrong. But when Gloria uncovers evidence that links the victim to a psychic, it appears that it may have been a targeted murder. At home, Gloria’s life as a divorced mom, raising two boys with the help of her younger brother Davey (Chris Payne Gilbert, DEXTER), who is a recovering addict, has its own challenges. Especially when her youngest son wants an elaborate homemade costume for his school play.
THE PROTECTOR also stars Miguel Ferrer (CROSSING JORDAN) as their boss. A-list guest stars this season include Academy® award-winner Patty Duke (TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL), Vivica A. Fox (CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM) and Jeffrey Nordling (DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES).
