Special guest Alison McGill, Editor-in-Chief, Weddingbells joins CANADA AM for the 5-day series. Monday, September 20 – From tea ceremonies and mehndi parties, CANADA AM’s Seamus O’Regan and Beverly Thomson look at the traditions that surround the exchange of vows in Chinese, Indian, Jewish and Greek Weddings
Canada AM talks about the start of the Terry Fox Run with Isadore Sharp, Canadian businessman and founder and chairman of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.
Tuesday, September 21 – A trip down the aisle – or the runway? CANADA AM delivers a fashion show featuring the attire from different cultures on the big day.
Also, interior design expert Ty Pennington and Canadian lifestyle expert Janette Ewan up the style ante on the CANADA AM set. CANADA AM also welcomes Canadian politician and MP Helena Guergis.
Wednesday, September 22 – From an envelope stuffed with cash to items on a registry, CANADA AM takes viewers through the etiquette (and taboos!) of wedding gifts.
CANADA AM delivers viewers a taste of renowned chef Anthony Bourdain, author behind the best-selling Kitchen Confidential.
Thursday, September 23 – CANADA AM looks at one of the most important items on the wedding menu: the food. Viewers join O’Regan and Thomson at the groaning board with a look at special wedding fare from around the world.
Capt. Nichola Goddard was the first Canadian female soldier to die in Afghanistan. Today, Canada AM welcomes Valerie Fortney, author of Sunray, a book that celebrates the life of this remarkable young woman. Viewers at home meet Goddard’s mother, who joins Fortney in discussion.
Friday, September 24 – Weddings are a-changing with the times, and CANADA AM looks at how couples are bringing a mix of modern vs. traditional, as well as a combination of different cultural rituals to the altar.
Also, CANADA AM welcomes best-selling scribe Sophie Kinsella. The literary darling dishes about her latest novel Mini Shopaholic. In the novel, Kinsella brings back Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood), The world’s favourite economically challenged heroine – now with two-year-old daughter Minnie in tow.
