On Night 3 of Premiere Week, CTV’s CRIMINAL MINDS returned with 2.64 million viewers at 9 p.m. to win the night and conclude last season’s cliffhanger. The series provided a winning lead-in to the series premiere of THE DEFENDERS, which debuted #1 at 10 p.m. with 1.9 million viewers. Meanwhile, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA grew by 6% compared to last week in its new, highly-competitive timeslot with 1.11 million viewers at 8 p.m. A ratings snapshot of Wednesday shows that:
At 8 p.m.:
* SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA was the #3 program of the day for F18-34 and grew 9% nationally compared to last week for A18-34.
At 9 p.m.:
* Winning the night, CRIMINAL MINDS more than doubled the audience of its nearest competition (MODERN FAMILY, Citytv/ABC).
* CRIMINAL MINDS was the #1 program of the day in Toronto for total viewers, A25-54 (9.5 Rating), A18-49 (9.8 Rating) and A18-34 (9.5 Rating).
At 10 p.m.
* THE DEFENDERS became one of the season’s most-watched new programs, overwhelmingly winning its timeslot in total viewers and the key A25-54, A18-49 and A18-34 demos nationally and in Toronto and Vancouver.
* THE DEFENDERS was the #3 program of the day in Canada with total viewers and A18-49.
At 11 p.m.
* CTV NATIONAL NEWS WITH LLOYD ROBERTSON was Canada’s most-watched national newscast for the third night in a row with 1.33 million viewers.
