CTV waltzed away with a Monday night win last night as DANCING WITH THE STARS was the most-watched program nationally and in Toronto and Vancouver. Up 19% compared to last week, DANCING WITH THE STARS delivered a season-high 2.03 million viewers on CTV. Meanwhile, CTV’s CASTLE saw double-digit increases to win the 10 p.m. timeslot with 1.98 million viewers last night and rank as Monday’s second most-watched program. The two programs powered CTV to win primetime from 8-11 p.m. nationally and in Toronto and Vancouver.
CTV’s lineup kicked up its heels Monday night:
• From 8-10 p.m., DANCING WITH THE STARS, #1 for the night, grew 19% with total viewers, 26% with A18-49 (638,000), and 25% with A25-54 (641,000). Head-to-head, DANCING WITH THE STARS bested both HOUSE (Global/FOX, 1.7 million, down 14%) and TERRA NOVA (Citytv/FOX, 1.1 million).
• At 10 p.m., a new episode of CASTLE, guest starring Canadian actor Kristin Lehman (THE KILLING) was #2 for the night, showing growth of 14% with total viewers, 21% with A18-34 (318,000),18% with A18-49 (739,000) and 24% with A25-54 (764,000). Head-to-head, CASTLE won the timeslot with 11% more viewers than HAWAII FIVE-O (Global/CBS, 1.78 million)
• Earlier in the afternoon, ANDERSON tied a series-high of 646,000 viewers on CTV.
It was also a great night on CTV Two, with 1.5 million viewers for TWO AND A HALF MEN at 9 p.m., and 1.2 million viewers for MIKE & MOLLY at 9:30 p.m., up 6% compared to last week.
CTV won primetime last night nationally and in Toronto and Vancouver with total viewers and A25-54 and A18-49. With an average audience of 2.01 million viewers, CTV delivered 50% more viewers than Global (1.34 million) and quadrupled the average audiences of Citytv (455,000) and CBC (410,000) from 8-11 p.m.
