CTV Delivers Exclusive Coverage of SUPER BOWL XLIX on Sunday, February 1 Beginning at 12 noon ET

The most-watched television event in Canada – and the biggest sporting spectacle in North America – touches down on CTV this Sunday, as the network delivers exclusive Canadian coverage of SUPER BOWL XLIX featuring the AFC champion New England Patriots taking on the defending SUPER BOWL champion Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Feb. 1Katy Perrylights up the SUPER BOWL festivities during the Pepsi Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show, with the pop star rocking out alongside legendary Grammy Award® winner Lenny Kravitz.

CTV’s extensive live coverage of SUPER BOWL XLIX from the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona includes six consecutive hours of pre-game programming with coverage beginning at 12 noon ET/9 a.m. PT (see below for details; visit CTV.ca to confirm local broadcast times).

 

Immediately following the conclusion of the big game, CTV debuts the Season 2 premiere of hit series MASTERCHEF CANADA, which moves to its regular timeslot of Sundays at 7 p.m. ET/PT beginning February 8 on CTV and CTV GO.

TSN at SUPER BOWL XLIX

TSN sets up the NFL’s grandest stage on SPORTSCENTRE, Canada’s #1 sports news and information show. Beginning today and continuing through to SUPER BOWL Sunday, SPORTSCENTRE features daily reports from James Duthie alongside analysts Chris Schultz, Jesse Palmer, and Israel Idonije, as well as reporter Farhan Lalji, who are all on-site in Arizona. Immediately following SUPER BOWL XLIX, the SPORTSCENTRE panel of Duthie, Schultz, Palmer, Idonije, and Lalji report live from field level to deliver post-game analysis and reaction.

 

This marks Duthie’s first time hosting TSN’s SUPER BOWL coverage since SUPER BOWL XXXIX, which saw the New England Patriots defeat the Philadelphia Eagles 24-21.

 

SUPER BOWL Programming on CTV and TSN

In addition to the SUPER BOWL SUNDAY programming, CTV also looks at the most unforgettable moments, greatest performances, and most dominant teams of the 2014 NFL season with ROAD TO THE PLAYOFFS at 3 p.m. ET followed by ROAD TO THE SUPER BOWLat 4 p.m. ET. Later that evening CTV presents the fourth annual

NFL HONORS at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Hosted by Seth Meyers, the star-studded awards special salutes the league’s best players and plays from the 2014 season.

 

Sunday, Feb. 1

10 a.m. ET – SUPER BOWL SUNDAY NFL COUNTDOWN (TSN2)

Chris Berman hosts a special four-hour edition of ESPN’s popular pre-game show with NFL analysts Cris Carter, Mike Ditka, Tom Jackson, and Keyshawn Johnson and NFL Insiders Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter. Suzy Kolber and NFL analysts Trent Dilfer, Ray Lewis, and Steve Young contribute analysis from University of Phoenix Stadium, and bureau reporters Ed Werder (Seahawks), Sal Paolantonio (Patriots), and Josina Anderson deliver the latest team news.

 

12 noon ET – NFL SPECIAL: TOGETHER WE MAKE FOOTBALL (CTV)

Produced by NFL Films, NFL SPECIAL: TOGETHER WE MAKE FOOTBALL is the culmination of a season-long project built around fans’ stories of why they love the game.

 

1 p.m. ET – SUPER BOWL SUNDAY PREGAME SHOW (CTV)
In the hours leading up to the game, NBC Sports will surround the SUPER BOWL with live reports from the team hotels and the stadium, in-depth features and interviews with players and coaches from the Seahawks and Patriots, and X’s and O’s analysis from its roster of expert commentators. NBC Sports’ pre-game show broadcast team features Bob Costas, Dan Patrick, Josh Elliott, Tony Dungy, Rodney Harrison, Hines Ward, Mike Florio Peter King, and more. Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh will also appear as a guest analyst.

 

6 p.m. ETSUPER BOWL XLIX (CTV/RDS)

CTV’s SUPER BOWL XLIX broadcast team features NBC Sports’ Al Michaels (play-by-play) and Cris Collinsworth (analyst), marking the second time the multi-Emmy Award-winning duo is in the booth to call the SUPER BOWL. They are joined by Michele Tafoya, who is reporting from the sidelines.

10 p.m. ET (approximately) – MASTERCHEF CANADA (CTV)

Following the initial rounds of the audition process, the premiere episode finds the home cook finalists entering the most nerve-wracking first phase of the competition as they present their signature dish for tasting by judges Michael Bonacini, Alvin Leung, and Claudio Aprile. Only those with the most impressive plates receive a coveted white apron and have the opportunity to reach the next level of the competition.

 

10 p.m. ET – SPORTSCENTRE (TSN)

SPORTSCENTRE airs live from University of Phoenix Stadium immediately after SUPER BOWL XLIX with James Duthie – hosting TSN’sSUPER BOWL coverage for the first time since 2005 – joined by analysts Jesse Palmer, Chris Schultz, and Israel Idonije as well as reporter Farhan Lalji at field level to deliver post-game analysis and reaction.
