CTV News Delivers Historic Comprehensive Coverage of the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election, November 3

CTV News announced today broadcast details for its upcoming live 2020 U.S. election night special, THE AMERICAN ELECTION 2020. As U.S. citizens head to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 3 to determine their next President, CTV News follows every angle of the election results and its impact on Canada, with coverage beginning on CTV News Channel live at 7 p.m. ET and live on CTV beginning at 8 p.m. ET.

Led by CTV’s Chief News Anchor and Senior Editor Lisa LaFlamme, THE AMERICAN ELECTION 2020 features a team of trusted panellists and experts delivering real-time updates, reports, reactions, and results throughout the evening.

Joining LaFlamme on CTV’s election special are:

  • CTV News Washington Bureau Chief Joy Malbon, reporting live from U.S. President Donald Trump’s headquarters
  • CTV News Washington Bureau Correspondent Richard Madan, reporting live from Vice President Joe Biden’s headquarters
  • CTV News Los Angeles Bureau Chief Tom Walters and Correspondent Abby Kuhathasan, providing polling updates and reactions from key battleground states
  • CTV News’ National Affairs Correspondent Omar Sachedina, providing comprehensive updates on voting trends, demographics, and the Electoral College

THE AMERICAN ELECTION 2020 analysis panel features Rona Ambrose, former interim Conservative Party leader and NAFTA advisory council member; Sheila North, former Grand Chief of Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak, award-winning broadcaster and advocate; Scott Reid, former Director of Communications and Senior Advisor to Prime Minister Paul Martin; and Zain Velji, political strategist and campaign team member for former U.S. President Barack Obama, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, Alberta NDP Leader Rachel Notley, and Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi.

The national CTV News special also includes contributions from security analyst Jeanne Meserve; political analyst Keesha Middlemass, an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Howard University; author and presidential historian David Eisenbach, a professor of media and politics at Columbia University; as well as other special guests.

As Americans prepare for Election Day, Canada’s most-watched documentary series and North America’s longest-running investigative program W5 takes a look at the campaigns and the issues that have roiled the nation with the feature “American Chaos”, airing this Saturday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. ET on CTV. As announced earlier this month, a free preview of Canada’s 24-hour all-news network CTV News Channel is available now through participating television service providers across Canada through the end of November.
