CTV News Presents Live Coverage of the Coronation of King Charles III with THE KING’S CORONATION, May 6 on CTV

CTV News provides comprehensive live coverage of King Charles III’s ascension to the throne with the CTV NATIONAL NEWS special THE KING’S CORONATION, airing live from London on Saturday, May 6. The special begins at 4 a.m. ET and airs across CTV, CP24, CTV News Channel, CTVNews.ca, and the CTV and CTV News apps.

Led by CTV’s Chief News Anchor and Senior Editor Omar Sachedina live from London, THE KING’S CORONATION showcases the Coronation of Their Majesties – King Charles III and The Queen Consort – starting with the Royal Procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey, and continuing with the Coronation ceremony itself. Along the route, CTV NATIONAL NEWS reporters Paul Workman, Genevieve Beauchemin, Joy Malbon, and Daniele Hamamdjian, as well as CTV News Channel Anchor Merella Fernandez and CTV’s YOUR MORNING Host Anne-Marie Mediwake share observations from their perspectives and speak with those in attendance.

CTV News’ coverage also features analysis and insight from CTV Royal Commentators Afua Hagan, an award-winning London-based broadcaster and frequent contributor to CTVNews.ca, and Sally Osman, the former Director of Royal Communications for Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Household.

Additionally, CTV News Chief Political Correspondent Vassy Kapelos co-hosts special coverage live from Ottawa, and is joined by CTV News Channel’s Senior Political Correspondent Mike Le Couteur and CTV Royal Commentator Richard Berthelsen to discuss Coronation ceremonies as they unfold in Canada’s capital.

In advance of Coronation Day, CTV News presents the retrospective special KING CHARLES III: THE CROWN AND THE QUARRELS, airs Thursday, May 4 at 10 p.m. ET on CTV, CTV News Channel, CTVNews.ca, and the CTV and CTV News apps, with an encore presentation airing Saturday, May 6 at 3 a.m. ET on CTV, CTV News Channel, CTVNews.ca, and streaming through the CTV and CTV News apps. Hosted by Sachedina, and featuring contributions from CTV News correspondents, the special explores the complicated path the new King has taken to the Crown, looking back on key moments marked by grace and controversy.

Throughout the week, viewers can find continuing coverage from London across CTV News platforms, including CTV NATIONAL NEWS, CTV News Channel, and CP24. Up-to-the-minute is information available through the network’s digital and social media platforms, including CTVNews.ca and the CTV News app.
