CTV Rakes in Viewers as SAVING HOPE is Once Again Thursday’s Top Drama With 1.3 Million Viewers

With 1.3 million viewers, CTV’s SAVING HOPE once again won its timeslot and was Thursday’s most-watched drama, overnight data confirms. Growing 11% compared to last week’s overnight audience,SAVING HOPE led the simulcast debut of new drama RAKE (Fox/Global; 865,000) by 86% (A25-54), 83% (A18-49), and 46% (P2+). With final audience data from BBM Canada, the first two episodes of SAVING HOPE’s winter season have an average audience of 1.7 million viewers.

Along with back-to-back episodes of comedy powerhouse THE BIG BANG THEORY, SAVING HOPE allowed CTV to claim the Top 3 programs on Canadian television Thursday night.

Additionally, last night’s episode of SAVING HOPE:

  • Maintained and grew nationally and in all markets among total viewers and all key adult demos versus last week’s episode.
  • Was the #1 program in its timeslot among the key A25-54 and A18-49 demos (non-sports) in all metered markets.

Viewers can watch last night’s episode on demand at CTV.ca and the CTV GO App.

In next week’s episode of SAVING HOPE entitled “43 Minutes” (Jan. 30 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV), Alex (Erica Durance) is looking forward to a night of relaxation after a stressful week, but as she leaves the hospital she becomes a witness to a near-fatal accident and is forced back into her role as a doctor. The Hope Zion Hospital team arrives on site to take over, but Alex is determined to stay with the Code Team to try and save the John Doe victim’s life. The team rushes him into surgery, but, with time running out, they face a litany of complications. It’s a race against the clock in this real-time episode as Alex and the team refuse to give up on their patient. Meanwhile, Gavin (Kristopher Turner) forces Charlie (Michael Shanks) into a walk-and-talk therapy session in an attempt to explore and understand his relationship to the Spirit World.

And fans can continue to see what happens after rounds in SAVING HOPE’s digital companion series LAST CALL, where the doctors ditch their scrubs and unwind over drinks. Additional content is also available on CTV.ca, including Insider Blogs, cast-curated song playlists, #AskErica with Erica Durance, and more.
