CTV and /A\ stations across the country opened their doors this past Saturday for the second annual Open House celebration, as an unprecedented 33,000 viewers took in the festivities to see where and how local television is made.
With local personalities on hand, prize giveaways, photo opportunities with television celebrities, interactive activities, BBQs, and facility tours of studios and newsrooms, viewers were treated a full-spectrum experience as CTV and /A\ warmly welcomed viewers for a fun-filled and family-friendly experience.
Twenty-two CTV and /A\ Open House events took place across the country, with many of the stations celebrating a significant milestone of 50 years of broadcasting in local communities.
“Viewers have been welcoming CTV and /A\ into their homes for years, and we wanted to welcome viewers into ours. This unique opportunity is our way of giving back to the loyal viewers who have supported us over the years,” said Paul Sparkes, Executive Vice-President, Corporate Affairs, CTVglobemedia. “The strong turnout is a testament to the loyalty of our viewers and the importance of local television in communities across the country.”
Local and federal politicians, business partners and community leaders also joined in on the celebrations, as communities across the country came together in support of local television.
