CTV and CTV Two Fall 2012 Premiere Dates Announced

CTV and CTV Two fall 2012 premiere dates are confirmed today for four new and 17 hit returning series on CTV, and three new and 10 returning hits on CTV Two. CTV’s new fall lineup is headlined by the most-anticipated new comedy on television, Charlie Sheen’s ANGER MANAGEMENT. The comedic superstar makes his big-buzz return to network television following a special sneak peek of the series premiere episode immediately following the LONDON 2012 Closing Ceremonies August 12 in all markets on CTV. Available across multiple platforms, the new recruits join the CTV and CTV Two fall schedules already jam-packed with established Top 20 hits. CTV

The fall season starts early when the hit “fairytale” procedural drama GRIMMreturns for its sophomore season in a special summertime timeslot, Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT, beginning August 13 on CTV for four weeks, following the London 2012 Olympic Games. In the fall, it moves back to its regular Friday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT timeslot, beginning Sept. 14 on CTV.

In addition to ANGER MANAGEMENT (Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT, beginningSept. 11), dates for the premieres of new CTV series include THE NEW NORMAL (Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT, beginning Sept. 11 a Tuesday night comedy about long-term couple Bryan and David, who look to create a new type of family – a surrogate family – with a single mother; and Sunday night medical crime drama THE MOB DOCTOR (Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT, beginning Sept. 16) starring Jordana Spiro. Also joining the schedule on Saturday is the comedy series, THE NEIGHBORS, starring Jami Gertz and Lenny Venito.

In addition, premiere dates are set for returning favourites including CTV’s Thursday night power block, beginning Sept. 27. THE BIG BANG THEORY (8 p.m. ET/PT), Canada’s #1 programs starts the night off followed by the country’s #2 comedy, TWO AND A HALF MEN (8:30 p.m. ET/PT), leading into Canada’s #1 drama GREY’S ANATOMY (9 p.m. ET/PT). The highly anticipated final season of the hit original series FLASHPOINT (10 p.m. ET/PT) caps the night off.

Last season’s #1 new series THE X FACTOR returns Wednesday nights with new judges Demi Lovato and Britney Spears; Canada’s #1 new drama ONCE UPON A TIME and #1 reality series THE AMAZING RACE are back in their regular Sunday night timeslots to kick-off the night; and Canada’s #1 new comedyWHITNEY moves to Saturday night. Premiere dates are also set for returning primetime hits DANCING WITH THE STARS, CASTLE, CRIMINAL MINDS,THE MENTALIST, CSI, BLUE BLOODS, CSI: NY, and W5.

CTV also announced today that it will treat viewers with the perfect primer to the CTV and CTV Two fall 2012 seasons, an ETALK-powered ETALK PRESENTS: CTV FALL TV PREVIEW, airing Monday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CTV.

Country music stars align as CTV spends a night in Nashville for CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL: COUNTRY’S NIGHT TO ROCK, Monday, Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CTV. New to CTV, the three-hour star-studded primetime special features hosts Luke Bryan and The Band Perry’s Kimberley Perry alongside performances from Lady Antebellum, The Band Perry, Rascal Flatts, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Scotty McCreery, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and more.

Finally, CTV also confirmed today that THE 64th PRIMETIME EMMY® AWARDS, celebrating the best in television and hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, airsSunday, Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. ET on CTV live in all markets (check local listings) from the NOKIA Theatre in Los Angeles. The live awards broadcast is immediately preceded by EMMYS RED CARPET LIVE on CTV (CTV Two in Ontario and Quebec; check local listings).

Premiere dates for CTV Two’s three new dramas have also been set. BeginningWednesday, Oct. 10, the action-packed ARROW (8 p.m. ET) starring Canada’s own Stephen Amell, and the much-buzzed about NASHVILLE (10 p.m. ET) starring Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere both join CTV Two’s lineup and the new medical drama EMILY OWENS, M.D. (Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET, beginningOct. 16) starring Mamie Gummer joins the CTV Two schedule Tuesdays.

The CTV Two schedule is also instantly strengthened with the addition of THE VOICE as well as results episodes of THE X FACTOR on Thursdays. Additionally, fan favourites returning to CTV Two this fall include LAW & ORDER: SVU on Wednesdays, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES on Thursdays; NIKITA andSHARK TANK on Fridays; and AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL, MIKE & MOLLY, and UP ALL NIGHT on Sundays.
