In the sci-fi blockbuster movie INDEPENDENCE DAY, a series of massive spaceships approach earth and unleash powerful weapons that destroy most of the world’s major cities.
Thrown into chaos, a group of survivors band together in order to save the human race led by a computer genius (Jeff Goldblum, The Switch), a hot-shot jet pilot (Will Smith, Men in Black 3), and the President of the United States (Bill Pullman, The Killer Inside Me).

9 p.m. – CTV TWO MOVIE – HOT SHOTS! PART DEUX (1993)
In the sequel to Hot Shots, HOT SHOTS! PART DEUX continues to spoof the Sylvester Stallone Rambo movies. Topper Harley (Charlie Sheen, ANGER MANAGEMENT) returns and has retreated to a Buddhist monastery after being broken up with by Ramada Rodham (Valerie Golino, Hot Shots!). Tropper goes back into action when his superior officer, Colonel Denton Walters (Richard Crenna, The Day Regan Was Shot) is captured by a Saddam Huddein look-alike. To save his superior, Tropper charges into Irag with sexy CIA operative Michelle Rodham Huddleston (Brenda Bakke, THE MENTALIST) in tow.

9 p.m. – CTV TWO MOVIE – JUSTICE (1998) – CANADIAN NETWORK PREMIERE
In the movie JUSTICE, a nation is shocked when two officers are abducted and murdered in gang-style executions. Tension mounts as the evidence points to a band of fanatical revolutionaries bent on violence to satisfy their own twisted agenda, as the ones responsible. Leading the investigation is Louis Belcourt (Gary Farmer, BLACKSTONE), a street-hardened cop who is determined to stop the terrorists before another victim in claimed. Without warning, the pressure intensifies with the abduction of Mimi Druckman (Julie Khaner, THE FIRM), a high-ranking justice litigator and the country’s security teeters in the balance.

8 p.m. – CTV TWO MOVIE – THE LEGEND OF ZORRO (2005)
In the sequel to The Mask of Zorro, the legendary Don Alejandro de la Vega (Antonio Banderas, Puss in Boots) is back in THE LEGEND OF ZORRO as his heroic alter ego, Zorro, may have to return to duty as he fights for the people of California to improve their difficult life. Alejandro’s wife, Elena (Catherine Zeta-Jones, Rock of Ages), has grown weary of his secret life, and she demands that he choose between his family and his clandestine career as a champion of the people. After the two separate for a few months, Zorro must come to the rescue of the people of California and perhaps his beloved Elena as well before they both fall into dangerous hands.

8 p.m. – CTV TWO MOVIE – LAST EXIT (2006)
The movie LAST EXIT tells the parallel stories of two ordinary mothers whose lives intersect on one fatal day. Beth (Kathleen Robertson, BOSS) is a single mother barely able to support her disabled son, and Diana (Andrea Roth, RESCUE ME) is a working mother precariously balancing her family and high-pressure career. Both women manage to keep it together while routinely juggling the conflicting and unrealistic demands of their private and professional lives until tragedy unfolds on a hot summer day.

9 p.m. – CTV TWO MOVIE – JACK AND JILL (1997)
In the Canadian romantic comedy JACK AND JILL, Jack (John Kalangis, My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and Jill (Kathryn Zenna, BROTHERS AND SISTERS) are about to get married, until Jack changes his mind and coldly announces his reluctance in a voicemail message. Deciding to see other people, the exes both find their new flings at the same bookstore. While Jack casually sees someone, Jill becomes seriously involved with one of the store clerks, which ultimately makes Jack insanely jealous.
Friday, July 13
9 p.m. – CTV TWO MOVIE – XXX: STATE OF THE UNION (2005)
In the movie XXX: STATE OF THE UNION, Augustus Gibbons (Samuel L. Jackson, The Avengers) has successfully dealt with numerous threats to America’s safety in his role at the National Security Agency, but faces a whole new challenge when he discovers a potent terrorist cell with ties to the upper levels of the American military. Gibbons discovers that the secretary of defence George Deckert (Willem Dafoe, John Carter), has been training a secret military faction to kidnap and assassinate the president of the United States (Peter Strauss, LAW & ORDER: SVU). Convinced there’s no one he can trust within his circle of operatives, Gibbons turns to Darius Stone (Ice Cube, Are We There Yet?), who is currently serving time in a maximum security penitentiary for help.

8 p.m. – CTV TWO MOVIE – BATMAN & ROBIN (1997)
In the fourth instalment of the Batman series BATMAN & ROBIN, Gotham City is in danger again as Batman (George Clooney, The Descendants) and Robin (Chris O’Donnell, NCIS: LOS ANGELES) try to keep their relationship together as they fight against the evil forces of Mr. Freeze (Arnold Schwarzenegger, The Expendables) and Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman, SMASH).
