QUESTION PERIOD, Canada’s Most-Watched Political Program, Returns for its 49th Season on Sunday, September 8

QUESTION PERIOD, the country’s most-watched political program, primes Canadians on key issues leading up to the 2019 federal election as the show returns for its 49th season this Sunday, Sept. 8 at 11 a.m. ET on CTV, CTV News Channel, and the CTV app.

Hosted by Evan Solomon, QUESTION PERIOD is CTV News’ weekly flagship national political affairs program, setting the national agenda for the upcoming week as Canada’s go-to destination for political debate, analysis, and breaking news. With Solomon leading weekly debates between top political analysts and decision-makers concerning Canada’s political scene, the series provides Canadians with comprehensive analysis surrounding the latest happenings on Parliament Hill.

“With many significant issues at the forefront of this fall’s election, including climate change, pipeline development, and the economy, Canadians can stay on top of the country’s current affairs each Sunday with QUESTION PERIOD,” said Solomon. “With expert political analysts joining us every week, we’re committed to helping Canadians stay informed throughout what is sure to be a very interesting season.”

“Canadians trust QUESTION PERIOD to inform their opinions through thoughtful analysis, intriguing debates, and breaking news surrounding Canada’s political scene,” said Wendy Freeman, President, CTV News. “With Evan leading the way as one of Canada’s foremost authorities on politics, we look forward to a very compelling season including the federal election.”

In addition to featuring the most topical political news stories, QUESTION PERIOD welcomes the country’s top newsmakers, press gallery members, and a range of new faces to join Canada’s most popular political panel, “The Scrum”. QUESTION PERIOD also incorporates viral moments from the social media sphere, expanding the narrative to capture the country’s ever-evolving online news cycle.

QUESTION PERIOD is Canada’s most-watched political program, reaching an average of 759,000 Canadians weekly. In addition, QUESTION PERIOD saw year-over-year audience growth last season with increases of 27% among total viewers and 13% for viewers in the 25-54 demographic.

Premiering Sundays at 11 a.m. ET on CTV and CTV News Channel, encore presentations of QUESTION PERIOD also air Sundays at 5 p.m. ET on CTV News Channel, CTVNews.ca/QP, the CTV News app, via podcast, and Sundays at 12 noon ET on CTV Two (visit CTVNews.ca/QP for detailed listings).
