Spike Lee’s Michael Jackson Tribute BAD 25 Premieres Thursday, Nov. 22 on CTV Two

CTV Two announced today that is will premiere BAD 25, the acclaimed documentary film from Academy Award®-nominated director Spike Lee (Malcolm X) that celebrates the 25th anniversary of Michael Jackson’s Bad album. Airing in a special Canadian television premiere on Thursday, Nov. 22, at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on CTV Two (visitctv.ca to confirm local listings) and featuring never-seen-before footage from the vault of the king of pop, BAD 25 examines the production of the iconic Grammy® Award-winning Bad album, often considered one of the greatest albums of all time. Following its North American premiere at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival® in September, critics around the world continue to praise the inspiring documentary film including New York TimesNew York MagazineTime Magazine, and The Hollywood Reporter.

Legacy/Sony Music Entertainment Canada celebrated the album’s 25th anniversary on Sept. 18, 2012 with the release of BAD 25, a CD/DVD deluxe package containing four discs’ worth of re-mastered versions of the LP’s original tracks, plus bonus material, including previously unreleased songs and Jackson’s iconic 1988 Wembley Stadium concert. Also available is a 2 CD package with the re-mastered version of the album and unreleased bonus tracks.

During the documentary, acclaimed director Spike Lee pays tribute to Michael Jackson’s personal struggles, diving right into the artistic perfectionism that drove him to achieve his career milestones. To piece together the making of Jackson’s landmark album, Lee recovered archival footage from studio sessions, and music video shoots, and conducted interviews with Jackson’s many collaborators, including global superstars Quincy Jones, Martin Scorsese, Stevie Wonder, and Sheryl Crow. Lee’s thrilling documentary also includes interviews with stars who were inspired by Jackson’s music, from Kanye West, and Cee Lo Green, to Mariah Carey, and Justin Bieber.
