Sunday night’s episode of Big Brother Canada turned the house on its head with an instant nomination ceremony and eviction twist that resulted in Toronto’s AJ Burman being the seventh houseguest to leave the Big Brother Canada house and the first to enter the jury house.“AJ feels shocked but I’m in good spirits,” said AJ Burman. “I’ve been on the block three times and I guess the third time wasn’t a charm but it’s great to be the first person on the jury and I love that I get to play a hand in picking the winner.”

After being called in to the Head of Household (HOH) room, HOH Topaz Brady was given a mere five minutes to select two houseguests to put on the block in an instant nomination ceremony. Choosing to nominate Andrew Monaghan and AJ Burman, Topaz returned downstairs to learn that her fellow houseguests were watching and listening in as she was talking strategy and voicing her reasons for nominating her two picks. Learning that an instant eviction was to follow, the houseguests were asked to vote immediately and in a vote of four to two, AJ was evicted from the Big Brother Canada house.
Following AJ’s departure, the houseguests competed in an HOH challenge called Diary Room Confession where they had to guess which quotes dug up from previous diary room confessions, belonged to which evicted houseguests. Attributing the most quotes to the correct evictees, Andrew was named the new HOH.
Sunday night’s episode wrapped up with a nomination ceremony with Andrew nominating Topaz and Gary Levy for eviction.
