ET Canada Rocks Out and Ring in 2011 With 2nd Annual NEW YEAR’S EVE AT NIAGARA FALLS Broadcast

Global Television and Entertainment Tonight Canada celebrate 2011 with ‘New Year’s Eve at Niagara Falls,’ a nationally televised New Year’s Eve bash for the entire nation.

On Friday, December 31 – 10pm ET/PT on Global, ET Canada’s two-hour live countdown to the New Year gets underway across from the world-famous Falls in the heart of Queen Victoria Park. One of Canada’s most celebrated live performers, Great Big Sea will kick off the second annual celebration followed by performances by international music sensation Kardinal Offishall and the GRAMMY® nominated and JUNO award-winning, Barenaked Ladies.

“Coming off of last year’s incredible show and enormous crowds, there was no question we would be returning to Niagara Falls for this amazing party,” said Barbara Williams, SVP of Content, Shaw Media. “Whether you’re in eastern, central or western Canada, audiences can tune in for off the chart performances, exclusive interviews by our ET Canada hosts and of course, a spectacular view of the Falls.”

Hosted by ET Canada’s Cheryl Hickey and Rick Campanelli, this year’s fete promises to dazzle audiences with a breathtaking fireworks display at the stroke of midnight. With last year’s show having drawn crowds of up to 15,000 and a peak audience of 1.6 million viewers (national 2+) at 12:01am ET, ‘New Year’s Eve at Niagara Falls’ has firmly established itself as Canada’s foremost NYE celebration.

Event partners include: The Niagara Parks Commission (NPC), The City of Niagara Falls, Fallsview Tourist Area, Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort, Victoria Centre Tourist Area, Clifton Hill Tourist Area, VIA Rail, Celebrate Ontario and other stakeholders within the city. For more information, log on to the NPC’s website at www.niagaraparks.com.

ET Canada airs weeknights at 7:30pm ET/PT on Global and 11pm ET/8pm PT on SLICETM. To catch up on special episodes and all the latest in entertainment news, please visit etcanada.com.
