Global Highlights For the Week of June 7th, 2010

Pick of the week include the season finale of GLEE as well as the documentary WATERLIFE, narrated by The Tragically Hip’s Gord Downie.

PICKS OF THE WEEK:

WATERLIFE
*Narrated by The Tragically Hip’s Gord Downie and Featuring Music by Sam Roberts, Sufjan Stevens, Sigur Ros, Robbie Robertson and Brian Eno*
This documentary follows the impressive cascade of the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean, telling the story of the last huge supply of fresh water on Earth. As the source of drinking water, fish and emotional sustenance for 35 million people, the Great Lakes are under assault by toxins, sewage, invasive species and dropping water levels. Some scientists believe the lakes are on the verge of ecological collapse. Filled with fascinating characters and stunning imagery, Waterlife is an epic cinematic poem about the beauty of water and the dangers of taking it for granted.
