Global to Broadcast Halo High Water Alberta Flood Relief Concert

With so many Southern Albertans still recovering from the devastating flooding that ripped through communities in June, Global is continuing its dedication to helping residents in need by airing uninterrupted coverage of the Halo High Water flood relief concert. Broadcasting live from the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary, the benefit performance airs this Sunday, August 4 from 7-9pm MT.

Hosted by much-loved Canadian actors Tom Jackson and Graham Greene, the Halo High Water concert will feature live musical performances from an all-star roster, including Susan Aglukark, Michelle Wright, Paul Brandt, Dean Brody, George Canyon, Jim Cuddy, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Brett Kissel, and many more.

Viewers can catch the two-hour broadcast on Global Calgary, Global Edmonton and Global Lethbridge. Halo High Water will also be made available to British Columbians on Global News: BC 1, and will be live-streamed on Globalnews.ca. Footage gathered by Global News during the crisis will also be featured prominently throughout the concert as the Halo High Water broadcast tells how Albertans persevered through the night of the flooding and into the clean up and recovery that followed.

“Global News is proud to partner with the Halo High Water benefit concert, and help shine a light on this noble and worthwhile cause,” says Troy Reeb, Senior Vice President, Global News. “Throughout the flooding, Global News’ leading coverage connected communities across the province as they rallied together. With the Halo High Water broadcast, we are continuing our commitment to share these stories of resilience and support the recovery.”

Viewers interested in supporting Alberta flooding relief efforts will be given an opportunity to give funds during the Halo High Water concert through phone-in and text donations. Funds raised will support the Calgary Foundation’s flood rebuilding fund established to help recovery efforts.
