Night two of the fall premiere week was another resounding success for Global, winning primetime and continuing its ratings reign with two fan favourites. Glee and NCIS: LA both roared back with stellar sophomore season debuts.
Hitting all the right notes with critics and viewers, Glee’s highly-anticipated Season 2 premiere was the #1 program of the night with 2.2 million (2+, national) gleeks tuning in. Dominating the 8pm ET/PT hour, Glee was also a ratings winner in each of the key Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver markets. Additionally, in the core A18-49 demo, Glee was the highest-rated program of the night with 1.3 million viewers, 172% more than its closest timeslot competitor, CTV’s Dancing with the Stars (1st hour).
Following Glee’s pitch perfect return, a two-hour episode of NCIS: LA was also a strong performer last night as the premiere garnered 1.6 million viewers from 9 – 11pm ET/PT.
Plus, 1.1 million viewers (2+, national) once again tuned into Dawna Friesen on Global National at 5:30pm ET/PT.
