As part of OMNI Television’s ongoing commitment to the evolving needs of its diverse audiences, OMNI is proud to announce that beginning this Monday, May 3rd, OMNI News:Mandarin Edition will expand to a full hour from its previous 30 minute format.
The popular newscast will continue to serve and reflect the growing Mandarin language population in OMNI.2’s coverage area in its familiar timeslot, Monday to Friday at 5:00 p.m. ET.
“By expanding our current Mandarin news program OMNI is better able to meet the evolving information needs of the growing Mandarin language community,” says Madeline Ziniak, National Vice President of OMNI Television.
OMNI News: Mandarin Edition was introduced with the launch of OMNI.2, September 16th, 2002. The programme has since continued to provide Mandarin speaking viewers with daily coverage of local, national and international news, including headlines from Mainland China and Taiwan, and digital streaming (@ www.omninews.ca) of key content shortly after broadcast. Many on the current team have been with OMNI News: Mandarin Edition since its outset, including Anchor Wei Lee and other familiar faces.
